We had dinner on Saturday night. The place was sold out, well heated. But the wait was really, really long. We waited an hour for the sandwich, and about 20-30 minutes for the appetizers. The sandwiches and appetizers, however, were truly delicious. Everything was delicious. It's a shame about the limited dessert selection, as people who can't eat dairy products in general (and the problem isn't just lactose, to be clear) can't order anything.

A lovely, intimate place to enjoy excellent and sophisticated fish sandwiches. Perhaps they should be served on a larger plate to make them easier to eat, even with cutlery. I would have given it 5 stars if the fried food had been reasonably priced, but overall, Mareria is worth dining at. 👍

For a long time we had wanted to come here to this seaside restaurant, which is looked after down to the smallest details, with everything you need to say about fresh and good food.

The food was just okay. The sandwich my girlfriend chose, which is supposed to be their signature dish, wasn't great. Limited wine selection. My troccolo was a bit lacking, but that's okay. Everything else was good, so it was just okay. The atmosphere wasn't 5-star. If it weren't for those two mushrooms, it would be freezing cold!!!

I've been to this place several times and each time the experience has been very pleasant. On December 31st I ordered dinner for takeout and I have to say that everything was super good. Thank you, you made me look great!

10/05/2026: Porta di Basso was, quite simply, exceptional. The kind of restaurant that reminds you why certain dining experiences stay with you long after the evening ends. Set dramatically above the Adriatic, the atmosphere is breathtaking from the moment you arrive. As the light softened over the sea and the cliffs below, the entire evening felt almost cinematic — elegant, intimate and deeply connected to the landscape of Gargano. The cuisine was outstanding. Creative yet restrained, refined without losing soul. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully balanced and deeply rooted in the territory while still carrying the confidence of true fine dining. One of those rare tasting experiences where every course genuinely surprises and delights. What elevated the evening even further however was the extraordinary service. Warm, polished, passionate and incredibly attentive without ever becoming formal or stiff. The entire team made us feel genuinely welcomed and carefully looked after throughout the night. Porta di Basso is not simply a restaurant — it is a destination experience. A place where setting, cuisine and hospitality align perfectly. Without doubt one of the most memorable dining experiences we have had in Italy.
