Excellent. Really authentic place. Frequented by many Chinese, precisely as evidence of its authenticity. Excellent dishes, very spicy (but it is possible to request them less or not spicy). Generous portions, very quick service. Very spartan place, equally authentic. I recommend the eggplant, fresh cucumber and braised bacon. The ravioli aren't bad either. Fair prices, the 3 of us spent €90 (so €30 each) eating a lot. With €20 you can eat easily. Advised!

An exciting return to the true flavors of China Dining at Mao Hunan in Milan was, for me, like going back in time, to the months spent in China, among intense aromas, authentic flavors and dishes that truly speak of a distant land but still present in my heart. It is rare to find a restaurant capable of evoking the culinary soul of an entire region with so much precision and fidelity, but here they have succeeded, and with great dignity. Each dish reawakened memories that had been dormant for years, bringing back to my palate flavors that I thought I could never find again. A rich, deep, spicy, sincere cuisine. A true celebration of Hunanese tradition, made with respect and competence. The service was impeccable: kind, friendly and always available to explain dishes and flavors to those who want to discover something more. A warm welcome, which makes the experience even more pleasant. Mao Hunan is not just a restaurant, it is a corner of China in Milan. For those who really love this cuisine, or for those who want to discover it in its most authentic form, it is a must.

Siamo ritornati in questo locale dopo molti anni dalla ns. ultima volta, ma devo dire che l'esperienza è stata nuovamente esaltante, confortevole e sopratutto piccante...Abbiamo mangiato molto bene, il servizio è molto informale così come tutto il locale, ma è una delle sue caratteristiche. Ambiente molto giovane e pieno di etnie diverse. Qui se hai voglia di sapori particolari mangi cose che non trovi ovunque.

Io penso che se in un'affollata pausa pranzo di dicembre, locale pieno, io ero l'unico italiano o comunque non di origini cinesi, un motivo ci sarà! E di fatti in questo ristorante non c'è nulla di scontato nè nei piatti proposti, ma neanche nella preparazione di quelle ricette più "classiche" che si trovano in tutti i ristoranti cinesi. Ecco questo posto mi verrebbe più da chiamarlo non ristorante cinese, ma ristorante di cucina cinese. Sembra poco, ma la differenza è enorme. Come dicevo anche un semplice piatto di ravioli di maiale alla griglia è tutt'altro che scontato e i sapori sono decisamente più decisi e particolari rispetto a quello che siamo soliti mangiare. Per non parlare poi di altre prelibatezze, tra cui ho potuto provare una trippa con manzo davvero buona: piatto freddo, abbondante e piacevolmente piccante. Ottima anche la scodella di calamari fritti con porro e germogli di soia che ho davvero apprezzato. Un altro elemento a favore è il rapporto qualità prezzo: imbattibile. Quantità estremamente generose. Unica pecca: un freddo incredibile nel locale, assolutamente non sufficientemente riscaldato.
