I had been waiting to visit this restaurant from the moment I landed at Florence Airport. The place has a warm and intimate atmosphere, and both the chef and server demonstrate genuine professionalism and kindness.
In London, steaks are often cooked in a butter bath, but in Florence, you can truly feel how high-quality meat requires only olive oil, pepper, and the chef's skill to taste exceptional.
I visit Florence every year, and this restaurant is always the first place I return to.
From the moment I arrived at Florence Airport, this was the first place I wanted to go. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, and both the chef and servers were professional and friendly.
In London, steaks are often cooked in butter, but in Florence, I was reminded that with good meat, olive oil, pepper, and the chef's skill, you can create a truly exquisite meal.
I visit Florence every year, and this is always my first and favorite restaurant.
March/2025
I had a reservation for four, but due to unforeseen circumstances, my friends couldn’t make it, so I had to adjust it to two. Knowing this might be inconvenient for the restaurant, I went in advance to apologise and rearrange. I felt really bad about the situation, but the two gentlemen at the restaurant were incredibly understanding. They not only helped me sort it out smoothly but also showed great empathy and kindness.
But don’t get me wrong, I’m not writing this review just out of gratitude for their understanding.
After settling the reservation, we started chatting, and it truly felt like I had made a friend in Florence. They were so warm and welcoming that I stayed an extra 10 minutes just enjoying the conversation. It was such an incredible experience.
As for the food, it was absolutely divine. We had a 1kg T-bone steak, mixed salad, and spinach. The spinach was outstanding, while the mixed salad was just that, a mixed salad. If you're choosing between the two, I recommend getting two plates of spinach. The steak was perfectly cooked, and even as it cooled, it remained juicy and full of flavor, which is rare for large cuts of meat.
Everything was perfect. I don't regret remembering the names of those who served us, but I am truly grateful for their kindness.
This visit has become another reason for me to return to Florence. It felt like tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain (a myth that says one coin ensures your return to Rome) only this time in Florence, knowing I'll be back someday. And when that day comes, I will definitely visit Manzo as soon as I check in at my hotel.

Something unexpected came up, so I had to adjust the reservation time and the number of people. I thought it might be inconvenient for the restaurant, so I went to the restaurant before dinner to apologize and change the reservation. I felt a little sorry, but the two people were so understanding and kind that I was deeply touched.
But the reason I'm writing this review isn't simply because I feel sorry!!
After sorting out the reservation issue, we naturally got into a conversation, and it felt like I'd made a friend in Florence. Both of them were so warm and friendly, it was a pleasure chatting with them, and we ended up staying for another 10 minutes, making small talk.
Oh! And a bit of a twist, but there was another Korean name on the reservation list besides ours, so the staff member asked me, "Is this Korean? Could you tell me how to pronounce it? Wouldn't it be easier if I called you in Korean when you come back later?" Unlike some other tourist restaurants, I was impressed by their meticulous attention to detail. (Of course, you might think that tourists spend more money, so they have to be great, but you'll find that's not always the case!)
Back to the main point, the food was, needless to say, perfect. I ordered a 1kg T-bone steak, mixed salad, and spinach. The spinach was so delicious that next time I think I'll order two spinach instead of the salad (if you don't order the salad, just one spinach would be fine)! The steak was perfectly cooked, and while meat usually gets tough when it cools, it was tender and juicy until the very end.
This place has become another reason I want to return to Florence. Just like the saying goes that if you throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain in Rome, you'll return to Rome. Just like this place, I feel like I'll be returning to Florence because of this place!
And next time I come back, I think this will be the first thing I visit as soon as I check into the hotel.
