We stumbled upon Ristorante Manubiola completely by chance, while rerouting through the mountains to avoid heavy traffic on the E33 — and it turned out to be the absolute highlight of our trip.
Tucked away in a quiet village in the hills, this restaurant delivered one of the best meals we’ve had in Italy. The truffle dishes were incredibly aromatic and delicate, and the wild boar was full of flavor — rustic, tender, and perfectly prepared. Every plate was clearly made with love and local pride.
Even more amazing: the quality-to-price ratio. You’d expect to pay double (or more) for food like this elsewhere. But here, it was honest, generous, and surprisingly affordable.
This is what real Italy tastes like — genuine, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
If you’re ever driving through Emilia-Romagna, don’t miss this hidden gem. Worth every detour!

We went to the Manubiola restaurant for lunch today, and we'll definitely be back because it's been a while since we've had such good food. Exceptional mushrooms, incredibly kind and friendly staff. The photos are missing the tagliolini with porcini mushrooms, the potato tortelli with porcini mushroom sauce, and the zuppa inglese (all delicious). See you next time! Hopefully soon.

We went to this restaurant on our way back from Tuscany. We were looking for a place where we could taste typical cuisine and we discovered a place where the food and service are of the highest quality at very honest prices. It was fantastic to be able to choose a second course of first courses which allowed us to taste different courses based on mushrooms and wild boar in our case. By the way, the wild boar was a spectacle, very soft and delicate in flavor. After the first courses we also had the mixed appetizer because it absolutely had to be tasted. Given the portions we didn't go any further but we would have liked to try everything. If it were closer to home we would go back often.

During a long trip on the highway we were looking for a place to eat something to break the journey and we ended up here practically by chance and it was a surprise: we ate very well, tried the crespelle, the tortelli with wild boar and the risotto with mushrooms, it was all spectacular! In particular the risotto, I think I have never eaten better. What a shame that it is so many km away from our house, we would have really gladly returned!

Scoperto per caso, consultando internet, abbiamo scoperto che era già conosciuto da amici e conoscenti della nostra città, sebbene si trovi a 150 km di distanza da noi. Che dire... una piacevolissima scoperta: un menù vario composto da ottimi piatti della tradizione. Da segnalare la cortesia del personale e la gentilezza del gestore che si è impegnato nel farmi pervenire il portafoglio che, sbadatamente, avevo smarrito. Spero di ritornare presto.
