Mamapulia Food&drink In Bari

A small restaurant near the University of Bari, with very friendly and attentive service. Excellent preparation of typical Apulian dishes and reasonable prices. The Fork discount confirmed. We'll definitely return.

Located on Via Roberto da Bari, about a 5-minute walk from Bari Centrale train station (very close to the university). The restaurant has "mushrooms" outside, allowing you to enjoy your meal while staying warm. Upon entering, you'll notice the large counter on the right and the various tables spaced just far enough apart to ensure privacy. Upon our arrival (it was a Monday evening), we were greeted by Saverio, the restaurant manager, who professionally yet kindly offered us advice on the local specialties. We tried the appetizer of bruschetta with capocollo and the octopus with creamed mashed potatoes (sublime). While we waited for our appetizers, the restaurant manager offered us a taste of the typical Apulian focaccia (we finished it immediately). To follow, we ordered a first course (orecchiette with ragù) and the meat bombette with scamorza cheese and baked potatoes (see the photos for details). All this was accompanied by a Primitivo (14°C), which warmed our hearts and delighted our palates. To finish, tiramisu and panna cotta, all strictly homemade, were served. We then had the pleasure of tasting (kindly offered by the house) a homemade herb nocino. I can only highly recommend this place for the quality of the dishes and the kindness and professionalism with which they are served. My heartfelt compliments, and I hope to see you soon to try the other dishes divinely prepared by the chef.

The place is nice, the food is good, the staff is efficient and very polite, and the wait times are really short. I recommend it.

I'm from Puglia, and I ate a truly Puglian first course here, delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Excellent service and fair prices. I also recommend it for the ambiance, in a pedestrian area with an outdoor seating option, away from traffic noise.
