Malvasia In Taormina

We booked the restaurant immediately after receiving a recommendation from the taxi driver who took us to Taormina. The restaurant is located just inside Taormina (from Porta Catania) on a small street on the left. It's not very large, and offers both outdoor and indoor seating (with air conditioning). The friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff welcomed us warmly, even letting us choose from the last available tables. Good quality food with regular dishes prepared by the owner's mother. There's also a wine list for those who want to enjoy excellent Sicilian wines (rosé is also very rare here). Prices are slightly higher, but justified given the location and the setting (we did receive a discount, however). Recommended...but best to book.

Charming restaurant in Taormina, the staff was a 10 for their kindness and attention at all times. We went with our dog and they were attentive to make sure he was as comfortable as we were.

As a non Italian. Did not feel welcomed. Waiters in a rush to serve you. Our meal was 45 minutes. Food comes out way too fast however it was good food. Caponata was nice sauce. Lemon cream pasta was very lemony and very creamy but no pistacchio flavor at all. Pasta Alla Norma was the highlight, great fresh pasta, very good sauce, not overpowering eggplant. Solid but not memorable

We had lunch at this restaurant during the performances at the Ancient Theater. Both the first and second courses were excellent, featuring very fresh fish. The place is a bit cramped.

Nuestro guía Chiara Rozzi nos llevó aquí para el almuerzo después de nuestro recorrido por Taormina. Qué lugar encantador para sentarse y relajarse en la terraza exterior del patio. Teníamos pasta casera hecha por el dueño que conocimos de espaguetis con limón y pistacho también pasta con berenjena y ragu. Especialidades del chef. Luego comimos pistacho canoli de postre. Tuvimos una experiencia verdaderamente maravillosa en Malvasía en Taormina! Desde el momento en que llegamos, el propietario nos recibió con amabilidad y se esforzó por encontrarnos la mejor mesa, a pesar de que el restaurante estaba bastante lleno. El corazón de la cocina es su madre, la chef, que personalmente se acercó a nuestra mesa al final de la comida para comprobar si disfrutamos de todo e incluso compartió algunos detalles sobre sus recetas — ¡un hermoso toque personal! Nuestro camarero fue increíblemente servicial, especialmente con mi larga lista de intolerancias alimentarias. Ella pacientemente me guió a través del menú, consultó con el chef y se aseguró de que cada plato se ajustara para que fuera completamente seguro para mí. ¡Este nivel de cuidado y atención significó todo para mí! Disfrutamos de tres deliciosos platos, café, y agua, todo por unos 80€ , que bien valió la pena. La comida era auténtica y sabrosa, pero lo que verdaderamente hizo esta experiencia especial fue la calidez y hospitalidad de la gente. Este no es un lugar turístico, se sentía como una joya escondida. Estábamos rodeados de familias italianas y lugareños en sus almuerzos, lo que hizo el ambiente aún más especial. Sin duda volveremos! En Malvasía, nos sentimos como en casa. Muy recomendable!
