Malga Ai Lach In Falcade

A beautiful mountain hut, renovated from many years ago. The garden is immaculately kept and the 270-degree panorama is mesmerizing. It's a shame that when we arrived at 3:45 pm, they were almost out of coffee...but no big deal... The final stretch of the trail is wide and well-maintained. The first two-thirds, starting from Barezze, are decidedly challenging: narrow, muddy, and sometimes not perfectly marked. At a medium-slow pace and a few stops, the climb takes an hour and a half... The descent is a little quicker.

A beautiful and evocative trail leading from the Flora Alpina refuge to the Val Fredda in the Casoni Valley. The directions are inaccurate and a bit misleading regarding travel times. The route is moderately easy, with steep sections, but easily manageable for capable children. Hiking gear is required, especially if it's raining. The circular route can be done in 3.5 hours with children. Elevation gain: +350-350 meters. A lovely place to stop and enjoy traditional dishes; the gnocchi are fabulous, but the rest is average.

Spectacular place... natural and abundant cuisine at a fair price... recommended!

We reached the Malga via the trail that starts from the parking lot near Flora Alpina. The walk is scenic, at high altitude with sunny stretches and through the woods. The malga is welcoming, with a crackling fireplace when the temperatures drop, and the food is definitely excellent value. The platter was delicious and reasonably priced. Gnocchi with butter and smoked ricotta: superb!

Beautiful place, friendly management and delicious food

We reached the mountain hut after a nice hike. We ate really well, and the staff was really kind. The effort paid off.
