Typical Ligurian trattoria, a bit "out of the way" and with no parking, so park your car along the road. Simple decor but remarkable food, with mixed cured meat appetizers, savory tart, boiled tongue, ravioli with meat sauce or mushroom sauce, goat stew (delicious), homemade desserts or fruit salad, wine, and coffee.
Absolutely reasonable price. Recommended.

I happened to be in San Maurizio di Monti because an ancestor of mine was born there in 1794. Not surprisingly, there are still lots of people with the old family names.
Given the small size and remoteness of the location, I didn't know what to expect from the Trattoria. After glimpsing the kitchen I was encouraged. The meal was amazing! Fresh pasta ravioli, rabbit in herbs and garlic, a catalana, and espresso were all exemplary. With coperto and two bottles of water, the total was 22 Euros. No wonder the place was packed!

A step back in time. Simplicity, attention to food and guests. Very generous portions, and if that weren't enough... a second helping is always ready. Kudos to the entire staff. One piece of advice, though: you need to have plenty of time.
