Macelleria Rosticceria di Michele Carpignano e Anna Rosa Luisi In Ginosa

My mother in law and I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful braceria in Ginosa, and I just have to share how fantastic it was, even if this review is late (so sorry)! The place specialises in a variety of meats, as other bracierie, but it was truly an unforgettable experience. I don’t think I have ever had any meat more delicious than what we had that night. The food was absolutely excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We came down from northern Italy, and the hospitality we received was just over the top. The hosts were incredibly kind, and when they found out how far we had traveled, they even gave us a little gift of home made biscuits (also very delicious) for the road! It was just that kind of personal touch that made us feel so at home. If you’re ever in Ginosa or Matera (where every place is fully booked and overpriced) and you love great meat selections and genuine hospitality, this is a must visit. Thanks to the entire family working there (and Anna Rosa in particular) for an experience we’re still talking about months later!

The meat is simple but very good. The staff is friendly.

Excellent food, short waits for the dishes. The only downside is the outdoor seating; in the summer, on a muggy, hot evening, you can't breathe.

Unforgettable experience! Fresh and delicious meat, from carpaccio to saltimbocca. Everything was served without too much waiting, perfectly cooked, despite the restaurant being packed! Michele, the owner, guided us from the choice of meat to the service! The waiters and chefs were very friendly! Thank you for the excellent dinner!

For us it was the first time in a Puglian grill, we couldn't have chosen a better place! We ate really well and a special applause to the staff, kindness and courtesy that really tasted of the south! Thanks again for having satisfied our children!

On the advice of the B&B owner we went to this place. A place you would normally never go to. We entered the butcher shop where you could choose from the display case which meat you wanted to eat. Quite a challenge when the owner of the shop doesn't speak a word of English. Still managed with some sign language. What we eventually got to eat exceeded all expectations! A truly delicious meal with top quality meat. But the starter was also great. Delicious house wine and tasty fries. For dessert a jug of delicious ice-cold limoncello with some local cookies. That in combination with a dedicated service made it all a party! Highly recommended!

Prima volta a Ginosa e prima volta in questo locale. La carne è davvero molto buona e i prezzi sono sorprendenti. Il personale è molto disponibile e gentile. Esperienza da rifare!
