What a great place to eat.
Michael is the perfect host and Sam was the perfect waiter. Seeing to our needs attentively and efficiently. Never having been to Tuscany before, Michael explained the different items on the menu and each we had was excellent.
I can recommend the roast chicken, the catch of the day (sea bass), the vodka and salmon penne, as well as the antipasti platters to start.
There is a large selection of restaurants in Lucca and whereas I can't compare this with all of them, it felt the most genuine of all the traditional restaurants in town.
Certainly a place to go if you want to feel welcome.

We were guests on two evenings and received excellent service on both evenings. The service was really very attentive and courteous.
We had pasta both evenings that were homemade and exceptionally good. The mixed starter platter was also excellent. To top off the meal there was a tiramisu and a pana cotta, both of which were very, very well made.
The owner speaks fluent German, English and Italian and also gave recommendations.
The sanitary facilities were also impeccable, which is sometimes not always the case.
Really highly recommended and thank you for the two very nice evenings

I have been coming to Lucca for years. A visit to Michele and his wife, who does everything herself, is always a must. The food is very good and special requests are always catered for.

One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The people are very nice, there is something for everyone. I found the place very pleasant. The servers also spoke several languages which made it possible to communicate well. In short, I highly recommend the place!

Onwijs leuke en gastvrije bediening.
De eigenaar helpt zelf mee in het restaurant en maakt het alle gasten comfortabel. Het eten is heel erg goed en allemaal maatwerk, je kunt het eigenlijk zonder menukaart af want de eigenaar adviseert je graag. De pistache pasta is een aanrader!

Cosy inside if it is raining and tables outside when warm and dry for people watching, we likedit so much, we went for both lunch and dinner. The Tourist Office and bus station is close by. The proprietor and staff were very pleasant while his wife cooked very good food. Pasta is freshly made and the house speciality is made with nuts. Freshly cooked food takes time, so not fast food, but well worth it.

A wonderful and family friendly restaurant in Lucca. All food is made to order so not a place to go if you’re in a rush but they helped keep three kids under the age of five happy, provided a great high chair for the littlest and the owner even cut fruit for one ‘off the menu’. The food itself was divine - fresh and flavorful and the service outstanding. After days of pizza and pasta the Tuscan soup hit the spot. There were vegetarian options as well as meat and seafood. The sweet owner even offered us adults limoncello and the little one candy on the house. If we ever come back to town we will definitely dine again.

Lucca in Tavola was a lovely dinner stop on our stay in Lucca, Michele and the young waiter who assisted us were charming, attentive, kind and accomodating. As a traveller with coeliac disease it is important for me to feel assured that I can have safe gluten free food and Michele let me know everything that was available for me, and I had a ragu pasta gluten free (with no allergic reaction) we finished off the evening with homemade amaro and a gluten free blueberry sponge dish which was delicious. thanks for your service!
