12/01/2025: Martinucci is my point of reference for every occasion. They offer delicacies of all kinds: ice cream, pastries and rotisseries that are always fresh and of excellent quality.
The Lecce store, recently renovated, boasts a very refined and classy environment, perfect for celebrating any event but also simply for having a delicious aperitif with friends while making a great impression thanks to the new underground room inside and the tables with a view, all ' external.
I would add that the external tables can also be used in winter thanks to a suggestive heating flame in the center of the table which is very pleasant to look at.
However, I would like to find the underground room always open..
07/01/2025: I was undecided on the stars for the food, if I think about the desserts I go for 4 stars, if I think about the food... no, given that the food you will find is more aperitifs or sandwiches, let's say that the quality of the savory dishes has a big gap from the desserts .. too much, especially because if you think about the commercial level of martinucci, I expected nothing less even from savory ones. But .. all in all you let yourself eat, every now and then Lecce becomes so congested even in catering, despite there being a restaurant every meter. In case you can't find a place in other places or you are out of time for lunch I recommend it, because we always found something to munch on, I recommend the fried calzone with spritz.. Okay, for the desserts needless to say, they are fantastic, typical desserts with some variations that you won't find around, I love that they have various sizes and the ice creams are also very good. However, in terms of style, the interior design is unique, we don't have places like this in Lecce, elegant, spacious, it tastes like an "old Nordic café" but revisited and modernised. It took us a while to understand that there was a room downstairs... this is because the staff is always under pressure due to the large amount of work, at the staff level I can only say that they are efficient and polite, I can't say anything else, not because the place doesn't allow it but because it's impossible to create a family environment in a tourist place. I really like this aspect of the places, so although personally this makes me put martinucci as the last of my choices where to go in Lecce, but only for this last note. Conclusion: nice, good price, good view of the square, quality for the price is there, not very familiar and very chaotic and touristy and a cold environment for me. But all in all, if I were you I would do it anyway, but if you like going to places outside and feeling the warmth of the people who work there, as an experience outside the home is for me, then no, stay away, a factory of money and that's it. If you don't care about these things then you will like the "Milan Martinucci" style experience more than Lecce.
