Hello to those reading... we had a great time... like a proper tavern... few dishes and well prepared... well done!!! Among the starters, a perfect sweet/savoury fried chestnut medallion is worthy of note!!!! The croxettes with tuddu have become one of my favorite dishes... what can I say... we will be back!!! A place from times gone by in the ancient village. The environment is calm and puts you at ease. The service is good and the food simple but very good.

This family-run tavern, active since the early 1900s, was a real surprise in the Alta Val di Vara. Located in via Mazzini 5, in Varese Ligure, it offers an authentic Ligurian cuisine experience. The menu is limited but with attention to the smallest details, with dishes prepared with fresh ingredients of impeccable quality. During the season, it is possible to taste specialties based on fresh porcini mushrooms, such as croxetti and rolls, true delights for the palate. The house red wine is also excellent, which perfectly accompanies each course. The service is excellent, carried out professionally and always with a smile. The tavern has some outdoor tables, ideal for the summer. The internal spaces, however, are limited, so booking is recommended. Nearby, it is possible to visit an ancient bridge over the Vara stream and take advantage of the many paths for pleasant nature walks. Free parking along the street completes the experience. An unmissable place for those looking for authentic flavors.

In the alleys of Varese Ligure and near the ancient bridge there is this characteristic tavern. Excellent service, kind and smiling and excellent raw materials. The menu is perhaps a little too basic for me as I'm Ligurian, but for a tourist it's fine! The environment is characteristic! The price is honest
