Excellent food; we had two appetizers of shrimp and asparagus, and for the main course, lobster and cod (very tender and tasty). Excellent service. Refined atmosphere.

I made the reservation by email.
Simone, who bore a striking resemblance to a young Christoph Waltz, responded promptly and with impeccable courtesy, accommodating a table for one despite the considerable bustle of Vinitaly in Verona. Upon arrival, I was shown to a table for two, positioned in a corner of a small dining room. Despite dining alone, I was afforded the same attentive service extended to every other guest.
The menu is decidedly exclusive, devoted almost entirely to fish and seafood, with a particular emphasis on crudo composed starters. I elected for a concise selection, deliberately omitting a main course.
Oyster selection (Italy, France, Ireland), presented on a ceramic big platter strewn with frozen stones, a theatrical composition, accompanied by lemon, a delicately salted butter mousse, balck toast and an impeccable mignonette. 10/10
Pairing, a glass of Metodo Classico Aljano Vigna al Vento Dosaggio Zero Millesimato 2019.
Red prawns and asparagus, charcoal-grilled, lemon emulsion, and a flavoured seafood bisque. The balance was exemplary, sweetness and salinity from the prawn, vegetal bitterness from the asparagus, the concentrated marine depth of the bisque, all gently infused with charcoal smoke and lifted by sweet citrusy brightness. 9/10
Blue lobster ravioli with Siberian caviar. Flawless. 10/10
Pairing, a glass of Valle Reale Vigneto di Popoli Trebbiano d'Abruzzo BIO 2020
Cheesecake with rhubarb and Siberian caviar. Not remarkable in isolation, yet the pairing transformed the experience entirely, drawing together sweet, tart, saline, bitter, and umami elements into a remarkably coherent whole. 9.9/10
Pairing, a glass of Château Bastor-Lamontagne Sauternes 2017. Château d'Yquem, alas, remained beyond reach on this occasion. Much more expensive for me.
One hundred and sixty-eight euros later, I found myself reflecting that the experience rivalled, perhaps even surpassed, that of certain Michelin-starred establishments. Or so it felt in the moment. Money may not purchase happiness, yet...

The ambiance was beautiful, and the food was exquisite and delicious.
We went without a reservation, just to try our luck.
The staff were all friendly and helped us find a table.
Except for Macro, who was arrogant and impatient. He even asked us for a tip when we paid the bill. How could we possibly accept that?

A real shame, because everything else is almost perfect: a friendly chef, refined dishes, and a young, professional, and friendly staff.

It's been years since I've been to Oste Scuro.
A friend of mine, a seafood entrepreneur, took me there last night. I must say the dinner was truly exceptional, with Chef Simone guiding the selection of dishes. In my opinion, the restaurant deserves at least a Michelin star, especially when compared to other restaurants that have received one.
But sooner or later, it's bound to arrive...
Highly recommended; the price is justified by the excellent quality of the products.
