LOrtica In Bologna

A proper old style italian bar with a modern selection of craft beer, wine and spirits and a wide choice of non-alcoholic drinks too! The bar staff were fun and friendly and there is lots of seating indoors and outdoors

A very nice bar with a comfortable outdoor area. The bartender was very kind; when I asked what kind of red beer they had, he poured me a finger so I could try it. This isn't a given, and above all, it's a kindness not seen by everyone.

They have a great selection of Italian craft beers on tap. Very lively place, good people, but also some quiet places in the back. All of the staff was very friendly. I even visited a second night, and on that second night the staff was also singing to some Italian punk/rock songs and having fun. I enjoyed the mood.

I read about this place on the Italy Segra website. They produced a list of the best spots for apertivo in the city. They used a line to describe L 'Ortica as, "cool without trying." After visiting the place, I can tell you it's the perfect description. L'Ortica is not fancy. There outside space is limited, inside they have a ton of room, but outside is better. But every inch of their space oozes an underground feel of modern-punk. I am 60 years old and appreciated the music behind the bar. No idea who it was, but I liked it. The made me a Negroni-like cocktail that was very tasty. The half liter of beer, a Blackout Stout was better, in a different way. I think a younger crowd would appreciate it more. Not that I didn't, but in a marriage keep the wife happy. Enough said. The staff is very friendly helpful and perfect for this spot. Great Job! P.S. We did not try the food which is why they three stars.

It would be nice if they had more non-alcoholic options

The best place in Bologna to come for a beer and a bite to eat. The music is also fantastic, and the terrace is spectacular!
