L'ombra De Vin - Bacaro poetico In Pavia

This wine shop deserves the highest rating even just for having framed a fascist's review next to a partisan memorial poster. It's incredible to even think that there can't be intolerance towards intolerance in a club. Freedom of thought has a price, the same that our grandparents paid to eradicate the cancer of the fascist dictatorship. Precisely because these realities must not be repeated, I am proud of the fact that there is still intransigence somewhere towards "freedom of thought" of this kind. A right remains such as long as it does not harm the rights of others; let's try to keep that in mind. That aside, we went here to try the Xena spritz and we were blown away: sparkling, sweet and with a slight hint of acidity and freshness that only citrus fruits have. A great drink for a great venue. The staff were very kind and even gave us some stickers. They printed a thousand of them to remind us that Italy is an anti-fascist country, hoping that it will always remain so.

A dimostrazione della storica eccellenza della cultura del bere veneziana, il miglior bar di Pavia (così come, incidentalmente, il miglior bar di Bologna) è un bacaro in autentico stile veneziano. Dunque: le eponime ombre, spritz a regola d'arte, cicchetti, etc. Ma questo locale va molto oltre la sua pur interessantissima selezione di vini e l'atmosfera accogliente e informale che sa offrire: si tratta di un importante presidio antifascista in piena piazza della Vittoria, e anche di un presidio della poesia performativa, coinvolto nell'organizzazione di numerosi poetry slam. Serve altro per raccomandarlo caldamente col massimo dei voti?

Delicious and inventive spritzes, quality appetizers, courtesy of the staff and owner, reasonable prices. For me, it is the best aperitif place in Pavia.
