L'Olivo Gourmet Restaurant In Anacapri

Refined atmosphere. Superlative cuisine. Attentive, friendly, and highly efficient staff! Congratulations!

This is a 2 star Michelin restaurant and unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. The service was between good and average depending on who was serving. I chose from the a la carte menu: I had a tomatoe soup for entree - €75 Essentially tasted like blended tomatoes 🙄 I had the black cod for main which was nice - €90. But, unfortunately, I’ve had better elsewhere. My wife was unwell due to some food poisoning the day before so she asked for somwthing very simple. They served her chicken with brocoli and potatoes. The chicken wasn't seasoned, my 8 year old could make something more interesting. The potatoes saturated in butter. Fair enough this wasn't part of their menu but we felt like it was thrown together without any care or consideration. Finally, the seating is a little interesting. Half the restaurant is table and chairs as you might expect. The other half is sofas and armchairs which is quirky but impractical. The sofa is also a 2 seater sofa that could potentially be shared with the next table, and with not a lot of space inbetween. Overall, not overly impressed and wouldn't ever go back.

We had a wonderful dinner here! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was good. However, we are well aware of places that are known for their exclusivity and fame, but coming from a Swiss Chef and a Pastry Chef’s perspective, and having visited other Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, we felt the prices were unfortunately too high for the components and portions of the dishes we received. The pricing felt like a shot in the dark, which caught us off guard in a very unexpected way.

This is Capri's only two-star Michelin restaurant. The seven-course meal is priced at 270€, while the nine-course meal is around 320€. You can choose two wine pairings. Since I'm not a big drinker, I went with the Italian selection. The wine selection was quite elaborate, with several Italian wines I'd never tried before. The food was also satisfying. The bread was fluffy and delicious, and the service was excellent. The desserts were a bit disappointing. I had a simple saffron brulee and strawberry pasta. I also got a small cake and some cookies to take home. The dessert course was interesting, but it didn't quite live up to its two-star rating. The cold strawberry pasta was neither sweet nor sour, just texture-wise. The brulee was unremarkable. The tart had a bland buttery flavor and felt like a regular bakery item. The spirits selection was also quite lacking. I wish they'd offer some vintage Italian grappa. The espresso I ordered at the end was just barely drinkable.

Dining at L’Olivo was far more than just a meal—it was a refined, elegant experience from start to finish. The service was, without exaggeration, the best I’ve ever encountered. Every tiny detail was anticipated before we even had to ask, handled with warmth, grace, and precision. The setting is equally unforgettable—gorgeous views that elevate an already incredible culinary journey. Each course was beautifully presented and flawlessly executed, a true reflection of the restaurant’s 2 Michelin stars. If you’re visiting Capri, this is not just a recommendation—it’s a must. L’Olivo sets the gold standard for fine dining.
