Locos In Gatteo

Hi, top stars for a place that's a cafe first and foremost, a restaurant first. The atmosphere is pleasant and cheerful, and you can sit down for lunch on one of the two verandas. Every day from 12:00, they offer a menu with a choice of two first courses and two second courses, a side dish, and water for just €13, with dishes worthy of a fine restaurant. They also stand out for the kindness and helpfulness of the staff (and women) and the homemade bread and cakes. Today, I chose the passatelli with pumpkin and mushrooms, and treated myself to a glass of Sangiovese decanted (from the bottle). Finished with a generous portion of torta della nonna. The bill for two was €34—what more could you ask for?

Nice place just a stone's throw from the sea, excellent for an aperitif

We were back in Cesenatico on October 12, 2025 (after 35 years!) and were pleasantly surprised by the bar. We weren't expecting a bar to be open near the beach at this time of year. The staff were extremely friendly, the drinks were excellent, and the bar's ambiance was also really good. What bothers me, however, is the appearance of the place (let's say the Cesenatico agglomeration). It's incredibly run-down; you wonder what criteria were used to build it there and who still vacations there today. I wouldn't walk from the bar to Cesenatico (about 6 kilometers); you could easily film an apocalyptic movie there. The bar can't do anything about it; I'd even drive the 6 kilometers just for that. Unfortunately, you can't magically make the buildings disappear.

I stayed in Gatteo for a week, and one day for lunch we decided to have lunch at this place. The staff was young and friendly. We ate a fantastic seafood dish and a spectacular fish carbonara. For the kids, they had cutlet and fries and an amazing lasagna. A few mornings we also tried the brioches and bomboloni, which were amazing. It's a bit pricey, but I mean, you're on vacation and it's okay once in a while. I recommend it.

It was recommended to us and I have to say that I was really happy... the food was excellent and the staff were wonderfully kind... I recommend everyone to go there, you will eat very well.

A lovely place with very friendly staff! I came here just for breakfast. They have delicious croissants and a very good cappuccino too! You definitely eat well here! I recommend it.

I found this place by chance while on vacation with my mom. It was a truly positive experience; you can tell it's run by young people, as the atmosphere is very friendly, fun, and definitely Romagna-esque. They've always helped me find my beloved Malibu, which gives them a plus. I'll definitely be returning, not just for the (very good) cocktails, but also for dinner! Elisabetta

We stumbled upon this place for dinner. The staff were friendly and ready to accommodate every request, attentive and discreet. Excellent food, the hot and cold seafood appetizers were a real treat, strozzapreti with clams and bottarga, followed by tagliolini allo scoglio, water, and a glass of Romagna white wine. What can I say? We had a great time, and it's hard to find anything negative. Recommended, we'll definitely be back.
