Let's start with the most important aspect: the food. Nothing to complain about, fresh fish, well-prepared and even original dishes (the gnocchi with mussels and pecorino cheese was exquisite). But overall, unfortunately, I found some shortcomings related to the service. Probably due to it being a Sunday, in a Taranto overrun with tourists (and for that we're all happy), but unfortunately, our service wasn't entirely adequately timed and served. The fact that orders aren't recorded already hinted at this, but there were three of us, and managing to mess up a first course (even though they kindly offered to change it) and appetizers honestly left me a bit perplexed. A bit pricey, considering we ordered an appetizer (a bit meager, being only gratinated mussels, marinated anchovies, and 3 shrimp with pancetta... leaving aside for a moment the fact that we had also ordered stuffed cuttlefish as appetizers, which then became calamari because they were not available and, in the meantime, became calamarata with sauce... but oh well, still excellent, eh, they arrived only after the first courses and I had reminded him that we were waiting for them to arrive). Would I go back? Definitely. But on a less busy day and hoping to see the orders taken down. Come on 💪🏻

I used to love eating here, but unfortunately, with the change in management, the experience has also changed. There's no menu or choice. The waiter, with his "landlord" attitude, practically forces you to eat what he says (obviously, it's not his fault, but he does what he's told). There's only one first course available and one second course, which consists of fried seafood, consisting only of shrimp and calamari (at this point I was eating at home). It's also absurd that there are no desserts, especially for a place of this caliber. A plus is the quality of the raw fish, which remains good.

True culinary excellence!
We visited this restaurant for the first time and were deeply impressed. The welcome was warm and professional, the staff attentive to every detail without ever being intrusive.
The menu is a perfect combination of tradition and innovation: dishes crafted with attention to detail, elegantly presented, and balanced in flavor. Every course was a discovery, from the refined appetizers to the simply spectacular dessert.
The wine list is also excellent, with interesting options that pair well with the dishes.
The setting is elegant yet relaxing, with a beautiful atmosphere that makes dinner even more enjoyable.

At Locanda San Giuseppe, we found excellent quality, a good price, and friendly service. Everyone loved the paccheri with scampi cream. Highly recommended.

A charming, elegant, and refined place.
We entrusted the chef with a special dinner and were impressed; everything was delicious and of the highest quality. The staff was present and available throughout the evening.
