Angelo D'Amico's Locanda Radici is a magical place. The atmosphere, the attention to detail, the mastery that can be seen in the preparation of the Chef's incredible dishes, the wisdom and preparation of the Sommelier, the attention of the dining room maitre are just some of the elements that make this place unique. It is not just a restaurant, but rather an all-round experience that I recommend everyone to live.

Satisfying gastronomic experience in the beautiful Locanda Radici restaurant in Melizzano (BN), the location itself is enchanting where outside you can admire the breathtaking and enveloping panorama of the Sannio and inside the theme of the Roots is found by white roots that give a sense of territoriality but at the same time of modernity. Chef Angelo D'Amico has great balance and taste, revisiting tradition with class but without losing sight of the function of essence and taste, making each ingredient participate in the gustatory experience and evoking flavors that give to the memory the emotion of the authentic that comes from the past and the territory. Not least is the skill of Giuseppe D'Amico who advised me on the right pairing with attention to the roots of the territory, focusing on the Mustilli cellars of Sant'Agata de Goti not far from the restaurant. The service is very attentive and attentive, I felt like I was entering a bubble where time stops and you can pamper yourself.

A restaurant that carries the name of Sannio high in its territory and beyond the borders. Chef D'Amico's cuisine is legible, clear, without frills and an intensity of flavors that work in balance. Our favorite dishes above all were the Crispy Egg with Mozzarella and Truffle, Cappellacci with Scarperiello and the Lamb Laticauda. Welcoming service in a warm environment surrounded by greenery.

Un ristorante che sa valorizzare i prodotti del territorio, in una location molto curata da cui si può ammirare la valle Telesina. Ideale per chi ama i percorsi degustazione con abbinamenti di vini.

Location estremamente raffinata ed elegante, personale cortese, garbato e molto professionale, pietanze squisite e curate in ogni minimo dettaglio. Esperienza sicuramente da ripetere.

Very nice and clean place. We had the 4-course tasting as a gift to which we added the tasting of wines by the glass. We were very satisfied and also had fun. Excellent tagliatelle with generous portions of guinea fowl and turnips. The meat had an excellent flavor and was cooked impeccably, we also liked the desserts divided into 3 courses. Nice experience.

Siamo nella campagna tra Caserta e Benevento, il locale si presenta come una residenza moderna di campagna tutta bianca e con una bella vista sulle colline. Tavoli distanziati nella grande sala moderna ed elegante. Servizio attento e competente, ottima carta dei vini (con ricarichi corretti), abbiamo pranzato il giorno dell’ epifania con menù degustazione (per mia moglie e’ stato presentato un menù vegetariano). Piatti bilanciati, menzione speciale per i bottoni ai tre brasati con parmigiano e funghi chiodini e per l’insalata di coniglio che mi ha ricordato un piatto dell’infanzia. Menù 4 portate a 65€, prezzo corretto per la qualità di materie prime e preparazione. Una sosta già provata in passato, cresciuta nel tempo e che meriterebbe a mio parere la tanto ambita stella.

La struttura all’esterno non ha un grande impatto (colere giallino, pavimento esterno molto scivoloso) anche se la vista sulla valle del Titerno è molto piacevole. L’interno è arredato in maniera moderna ed elegante senza però particolari picchi stilistici. Il servizio è sicuramene impeccabile. Una volta seduti si avvicina al tavolo lo chef che ci da il benvenuto e ci fa un brevissimo excursus sui menù proposti. Io ho preso il menù radici che ho trovato veramente eccellente: l’uovo croccante al tartufo è stato una sorpresa, il risotto al blu di capra eccezionale, molto buono il aiale nero fondente all’anice stellato, superlativo la ricotta soffiata con mela annurca (voto 5). Gli altri familiari, invece, hanno quasi tutti scelto il menù mediterraneo (che ho avuto modo di assaggiare) e si sono tutti pentiti: piatti ben presentati e prodotti di qualità ma i sapori del mare non si sentivano (voto 2). Insomma, lo stile cui la Locanda Radici vuole tendere è quello dei locali gourmet stellati...ma c’è ancora molta strada da fare.
