You must eat at Locanda del Marinaio if you visit Amalfi. An unforgettable experience. The dishes were very tasty. Excellent service. Fair price.

We enjoyed a simple lunch at this nice restaurant. Amalfi can be busy but it was relaxing inside and the pizza was perfectly delicious. I ordered the Marinara (pictured) and my companion ordered the Margherita pizza. Simple fresh ingredients. The macchiatos were also perfectly made. I recommend trying this restaurant!

I read a lot of negative reviews... I have been there with my family twice... The last time 2 years ago... And I must say the staff very nice and friendly... The food is great as is the price.

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. There were dishes advertised on the blackboard on the wall outside, but none were being served. We had gone in so my husband could order a dish from the outside blackboard. Anyway we ordered from the printed menu inside. Unfortunately it was clear immediately upon eating that the pasta was not in-house made. Also, I ordered a pasta with lemon sauce and red prawn crudo. I am not sure why they bothered mentioning prawn, as when the dish arrived it had about a teaspoon of macerated prawn crudo included on top of the pasta. The other dish was a basic tomato sauce on spaghetti. Once served our meal, not once did a waiter come to check on us to enquire if we needed anything or if the meal was satisfactory. We asked for the bill and another person came to arrange payment. She enquired about our meal and we were honest. She offered to compensate, and took the cost of a plain mixed salad off the bill. If you go to this restaurant, be careful what you order, otherwise you may end up with a disappointing meal.

Beh, mia moglie non stava bene e dovevo mangiare abbastanza tardi sabato sera in una città che non conosco. Qui era tranquillo ma anche ideale. Ho preso une bella pizza e tutt'è andato benissimo.

Esperienza superlativa questa sera alla “Locanda del Marinaio”. Pur avendo radici amalfitane e conoscendo molto bene la cucina della costiera sono rimasto particolarmente entusiasta per gli “spaghetti con le vongole spolverati di tarallo sbriciolato”, una vera prelibatezza. Anche l’antipasto di provola affumicata tra foglie di limone con pomodorini confit e mostarda di fichi si è rivelato di altissimo livello. Una menzione è meritata anche dai dolci, unici nel loro genere: crostatina calda con mela e cannella sapientemente guarnita da frutta varia e creme nonché un pan di spagna con crema e sorbetto di limone. Complimenti a Simona, perfetta padrona di casa, che dà lustro alle tradizioni culinarie della Famiglia Carrano.
