A hidden gem in Amalfi!
Incredibly warm and welcoming staff — they greeted me with genuine smiles and even cheer for my attempt at Italian (“Conto per favore!”). The food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and shockingly affordable for the quality. Every dish felt like a taste of real Italian hospitality. Whether you're just passing through or staying in Amalfi, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Had lunch with my friends a few days ago, chose fish dishes - and it's fantastic! Really tasty, prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is warm. The restaurant is located on the main promenade 😉. If I'm in Amalfi, I'll choose this place for lunch 😉

My husband and I came in just to try the Delizie al Limone. We did not have any other food, but we were impressed with the dessert. Staff were friendly, service was quick and coffee was good.

Locanda del Marinaio was such a great find only moments from the steps of the cathedral of St Andrew Apostle. Our family stumbled across this restaurant with no booking and the staff were all very welcoming. Prices were quite reasonable compared to many other restaurants in the same area. You could sit outside but we chose inside in the comfort of the A/C.
We had a lovely bottle of Prosecco at €32 and the meals (pizza & pasta) were between €10-20. My Linguine artigianali (prawn linguine) was to die for.
They serve fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar complimentary.
Of course there is a €2/person charge (coperto) but this is standard.
Look forward to dining here again when next in Amalfi.

We were there seven years ago and returned this year because the flavors the first time were unique.
And I can say it's still the same: their dishes are exquisite, with fully Italian flavors...and truly Southern Italian.
Some people complain about the manner or the details, but I suggest you put aside those opinions and go in search of the wonderful flavors the dishes offer here.

Such a lovely place. We travelled Italy for 2 weeks and this was up there with the best food, best staff and great atmosphere. I also loved the fact they thought I was my daughters sister! Brownie points haha.
In all seriousness though a restaurant to visit and enjoy. Affordable too! We thanked the chef personally because his food was amazing.

Quando sei ad Amalfi non perdere l'occasione di passare alla locanda del marinaio. Si mangia molto bene. Ormai per me ê un appuntamento fisso, perché ha un'ottima scelta nel menù e un equilibrio tra qualità e prezzo. Il locale é stato ristrutturato da poco e vale la visita

Situato nelle immediate vicinanze della cattedrale di Amalfi, questa locanda ci è sembrato subito molto accogliente !
Buoni sia i primi che la pizza, nota un po’ negativa sulla frittura di pesce per quanto riguarda il rapporto quantità prezzo !
Mi sento di consigliarla, i primi sono stati davvero buoni !
