We stopped by one Sunday by chance, looking for fresh air away from the city of Bologna. With such a rustic name we expected traditional cuisine. Instead we found fresh fish to convince the mouth of a Bari native, and recipes composed with simple ingredients but with the same art of a painter. Then Beppe, host and guide, was more than welcoming, so much so that we let time pass, and resumed the journey only at the first golden lights of sunset. The Campiaro barns are there in front and the exhibition of the works of Morandi's students amazed us, but perhaps we understood something important about the spirit of the place (thanks Milena). Wonderful dishes, friendly staff, magical place

Posto meraviglioso incantevole immerso nel verde con paesaggi stupendi, si possono ammirare laghi, cascata, museo, sentieri di montagna per escursioni e comunque vicino a due città meravigliose come Firenze e Bologna raggiungibili in circa 25 Min! Locanda stupenda curatissima, pulita e raffinata nei minimi dettagli, cibo di altissima qualità, menù di carne di pesce e anche per vegani, vini di ottima qualità e basta scelta. Titolari di una bontà unica, professionali ma allo stesso tempo ti fanno sentire a casa accogliendo i clienti in modo perfetto, con gentilezza educazione e cortesia cercando di soddisfare tutte le esigenze dei clienti in modo impeccabile. Un grandissimo merito va anche ai camerieri e al personale di sala dire ragazzi fantastici è dire poco! Hanno massima disponibilità nei confronti dei clienti consigliando e accompagnando il cliente sempre verso le scelte migliori alle proprie esigenze e gusto, conoscenza impeccabile di vini pregiati quali dispongono, preparati anche ad affrontare una conversazione in altre lingue come nel nostri caso che avevamo amici inglesi e francesi e loro hanno saputo comunicare al meglio bravi ragazzi e poi un grande merito per l'educazione che hanno avuto nei nostri confronti rendendosi sempre disponibili e cordiali! Consiglio vivamente questo posto! Le camere sono confortevoli e i materassi molto comodi. Noi in sei siamo riusciti a dormire in tre camere perché ci sono anche i lettini in più in alcune camere e ci siamo trovati molto molto bene. Poi oltre che ammirare la vista dalle finestre si respira un aria pulita e di serenità. Pulizia eccellente! Posto consigliatissimo!

This establishment sets the gold standard for accommodation and fine dining. It is a family run business in the mountains of Grizzana south of Bologna in Italy. During my four day stay I experienced superb original Italian food prepared by Norma and served by Beppe. Nothing was too much trouble, The ambiance was superb, with original decor and contemporary music. The accommodation was very comfortable and warm with quality fittings, tv and a well equipped bathroom. Prices were reasonable for the standard set. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
