15/02/2025: [EDIT: I was contacted by the staff (Alessandro) who apologized and invited me to try the restaurant experience again. I can only appreciate the style and education. So for now I'm raising it to three stars, with the hope of making it five soon.]
One cold and rainy evening in February, I arrive at the restaurant, after having regularly booked a table the previous day, a few minutes before the agreed time. Be careful, because this detail is not secondary.
I ask to sit down, but they tell me "we have reserved inside for those who have booked the Valentine's Day menu (so what? I also booked and maybe I would have even spent more, but that's not the problem), you can sit outside". By “outside”, I think, they mean the heated outdoor area. I think badly. They point me to an isolated table, with seats soaked in water, under a dripping umbrella, in the dark, on the road ten centimeters from the cars.
Remember when I said to pay attention to that detail at the beginning? I had booked. And they saw fit to occupy all the available seats and reserve the seat for the poor asshole who booked.
I said “thank you, no”, I said goodbye with a smile and the certainty that they will never see me again.
07/01/2025: Excellent place on the climb up Via San Giuliano, the type of "cold" cuisine leaves you pleasantly surprised.
Top staff, I was finally able to drink red wine in the appropriate glasses, which is not a very obvious thing here in Catania.
Many thanks to Alessandro who, in his explanations of the various labels, made his passion for what he does shine through.
Compliments to the chef, each dish is a fantastic creation, as well as delicious.
