The best pasta I’ve ever eaten! We popped in for the €10 lunch menu and weren’t disappointed. The food was delicious, hearty and perfectly simple. The anchovy pasta was the stand out dish - I will dream about it for the rest of my life. We also had the soup, herring with beans and meatballs. The service was friendly and the atmosphere felt buzzing and local. We will be back desperately hoping the anchovy pasta is on the menu.

Bellissimo! Incredible food, the owner, chef and waiter were all incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable on the food and drink. Warm atmosphere and again the food was unbelievable 👌

Wonderful local restaurant, truly a laboratory of Tuscan cuisine flavors. As so often, the Locanda offered an excellent culinary experience. Our gratitude goes to the team—"slow food but fast service"—composed of Filippo, Lia, Carlo, and especially Chef Sonia! 🤗

The dishes at Locanda Buatino are so good, so true to Lucca's culinary tradition, and so beautifully served, that I returned for dinner several times during the same stay in Lucca. Near the city walls, you'll find this welcoming, spacious, well-furnished, and warm inn, with two young men ready to welcome and serve you, so knowledgeable and smiling, that you'll leave feeling satisfied. Satisfied with the food, certainly, but also with the satisfaction of seeing those who love doing their job with passion and kindness. Thank you!

21/02/2026: Both the brioche ice cream and the lunch options are well priced and very tasty. Great to have on and then walk by the water. Prices are very fair.
15/02/2026: How does it work? Stand in line, think about what you want. At the first counter we reported a medium portion of ice cream, 4 people, we paid, we got a receipt for payment and then moved on to choosing the types of ice cream. Medium portion means two types of ice cream + biscuit + whipped cream. The ice cream was delicious. Total for all people 12 Euro.
