I went to this restaurant to eat T-bone steak. The meat was perfectly cooked and tender, with a fragrant charcoal aroma. It was very delicious. All the bruschettas I ordered as appetizers were delicious, and although I was there for the steak, they were so good that I wanted to have a second serving. The dessert was also delicious.

The food was really tasty and there was a good selection, the atmosphere was great because we were there shortly before lunchtime.
Service was really good, toddler got pens and paper, didn't always speak up but the staff was in a good mood. Even the cat was allowed in without any problems.

First time at the Scudo and I must say that I will definitely be back...high quality food. I recommend the classic Tuscan appetizer and you can't help but eat the steak here...it's difficult to find such quality....rated 10!!! Then the view of the cathedral for a top wine that cannot be missed...high quality wines!! So see you next time try this place!

Restaurant a stone's throw from the Duomo.
My wife and I spent a Florentine weekend to appreciate the culture that splendid Florence has to offer. We had lunch and dinner at Lo Scudo, in the hope that they would offer gluten free alternatives. My wife, who is celiac, ate an excellent pasta with wild boar ragù and some delicious strips of lemon chicken with spinach and roasted potatoes. The staff was attentive both in taking orders and in delivering what was requested, with due care.

We were wandering around the area near the Duomo and looking for a lunch place and stumbled upon Lo Scudo. We ended up having the most delicious lunch and the service was exceptional. My daughter has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy and they were so careful with preparing my daughter’s lunch it made the experience even better. My husband has a gluten allergy and he had gluten free pasta with duck meat sauce and said it was his favorite dish of our whole week in Italy. This was our family’s favorite meal in Florence!

Good food, average price considering the prime location. Best complimentary bread I’ve ever tasted in my Italian trip. It was starting to rain when I went and the lady was kind enough to let me in while waiting for the opening time.

Delicious traditional Italian food very reasonably priced quiet atmosphere and helpful attentive staff. I had the lasagna -delicious with crispy edge and not overwhelming portion, my wife had pesto pasta-yummy and plenty for lunch next day!
Disability Note: though we did not use it, the staff insisted there was an accessible toilet reached off main floor by small ramp.

Cenamos dos veces en Lo Scudo en nuestro viaje más reciente a Florencia. Una vez para el almuerzo, y otra vez para la cena más tarde en la semana. La comida y el servicio eran excelentes, y sin duda recomendaría para cualquiera que busque comer en la zona Centro Storico de Florencia.
