Lo Scopettaro In Roma

We had lunch. This restaurant markets itself as traditional Roman. The menu sounds very Roman, and therefore authentic. We sat outside. Like many other restaurants in Rome, it's noisy, as there's a street right next door. The owners can't really do anything about that. We don't find it a big deal; it's just how it is in Rome. The service was excellent. A young, friendly man served us. We really noticed how hard he tried. Kudos to him, thank you very much! You can see the food in the pictures. My rigattoni were unfortunately a bit cold and not al dente. I'm not Italian, but I know what al dente means. The seasoning was good, a bit too little chili and artichoke for my taste, and a bit too much bacon, but that's my personal taste. The chicken was tasty. Not dry, very good olive oil. You could taste the quality of the chicken; it wasn't cheap meat. The bruschetta had too little garlic, and the bread was a bit hard. Of the three, this was the worst dish. The house white wine is indeed sour. We still found it delicious. There are different types of wine, after all. :) The prices are absolutely reasonable. It's not expensive, and in some cases, it's even cheaper than elsewhere, which I wouldn't have expected given the location. All in all, it was a delicious and relaxed experience. We would come back.

A restaurant that serves traditional Roman food. The dishes were excellent. We tasted the house wine, a white wine that was very tasty. The plum dessert was great. Our waiter spoke fluent English, recommended good dishes and was so handsome. Thank you.

I dined at this trattoria during a stay in Rome and was truly thrilled. The service was attentive and thoughtful, with all the waiters friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, carefully prepared, and authentically flavored: you truly get a taste of local cuisine! Plus, the prices are fair, which isn't always a given. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic Roman trattoria.

A typical Roman restaurant in the Testaccio neighborhood. We were seated on the lower floor. I must admit, the quality of the food was truly surprising. There were four of us and we ordered four different starters: a carbonara, a gricia, a cacio e pepe, and rigatoni with vaccinara sauce. All four were truly Five Star. Excellent service, but the wait was short, despite the restaurant being busy in the middle of the week. Reservations are recommended. I believe they have shifts on weekends, which I personally hate, but in our case, there were no shifts since it was midweek. The staff's courtesy deserves an A+.

I ate at Scopettaro yesterday and had a wonderful time. The food was truly delicious and the service was very fast. Special thanks to Valerio, the man who served us. He was friendly, helpful, and even gave us helpful directions to our B&B. I recommend this place to anyone who wants good food and attentive service. I would gladly return!

Just a few words, you reminded me of my mother's cooking, the exceptional pajata, and the tripe? Finger-licking good after mopping up the bread.

Abbiamo cenato in questa osteria che offre piatti tipici romani. Di primo abbiamo preso carbonara, amatriciana, carciofi e guanciale e al sugo di coda, tutte buone ma con pasta oltre cottura. Di secondo pajata, abbacchio alla cacciatora, trippa e coratella, questi tutti buoni di maggior livello rispetto alla pasta. Vignarola buona, carciofo alla romana bocciato invece, senza sapore.

Bella accoglienza con possibilità di mangiare all'aperto oppure fuori. Porzioni abbondanti personale gentile e premuroso in particolare Matteo ci ha aiutato nella scelta dei piatti con simpatia. Ritorneremo sicuramente...
