Small, simple but welcoming place, excellent cuisine with typical local dishes and excellent cutting boards which I recommend trying. Polite and friendly staff.

I don't usually review restaurants or places I've been to but the friendliness, the impeccable service and the delight of the dishes I tasted convinced me to do so! Congrats to all the guys! Highly recommended place!

Absolutely perfect dinner! I recommend the cod tiramisu, served warm. Crazy. The amberjack steak on green curry broth is also excellent. Very fair prices. We'll be back!

We really had a great time!!! Super hospitality and service. We were super pampered. A red turnip entree with crispy space wafer. A Mantuan appetizer with excellent cured meats accompanied by polenta, giardiniera and space apple mustard. What can we say about the Mantuan tortelli which we tried both with butter and sage and with ragù…. Excellent.. an excellent Lambrusco Mantovano to accompany and to finish a tiramisu with sparkling chocolate 😋😋😋 BRAVIIIIIII

A guarantee, every time! We have been to Scalcograsso in Mantua three, four times now... and each time it was a confirmation. It's one of those places where you already know that you will eat well, you will feel good and you will leave satisfied, with a smile. The quality of the food is very high: carefully prepared, tasty dishes, made with passion. You really feel that in the kitchen there is attention and love for what you do. The quality-price ratio is also excellent, more than honest for what is served. The service is always impeccable: kindness, availability, right times and a nice relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. And we cannot fail to thank Vani, the owner, who every time treats us with a friendliness and hospitality that really makes the difference. He makes you feel at home, with a sincere smile and attention to every detail. For us it has become a point of reference. When we want to have a nice meal and feel good, we already know where to go. Five well-deserved stars, but if we could, we would give even more!

A stone's throw from the center of Mantua, this intimate and welcoming restaurant won us over. Professional staff, attractive decor, traditional dishes revisited in a modern key of excellent quality. Everything perfect, I highly recommend it.

Locale di buon livello sia per la qualità proposta che per il servizio. Carta dei vini molto ampia. Il locale è carino ma un po' sacrificato e fronte strada. Conto un po' salato ma rispetto ad altri ristoranti cittadini, soldi ben spesi.

Conclusion worthy of a magical day... Discovered last December, the place was chosen to celebrate my daughter's graduation... Never has the choice been more appropriate... Abbiamo pranzato sabato 14 visto che eravamo appena arrivati e allogiavamo in un hotel a poca distanza.. ci hanno fatto accomodare anche senza prenotare. Il locale è piccolo ma carino..certo non per farci un pranzo o una cena romantica..ma devo dire che siamo stati accolti bene e abbiamo assaggiato il calamaro mbuttunato e i toast di pesce ( ricciola?)..più come antipasto un baccalà tiramisù molto buono. Il proprietario molto cortese ci ha consigliato anche un buon vino bianco locale..prezzo giusto..ve lo consiglio per un pranzo o cena se volete mangiare bene ..
