Wednesday, April 8, 2026. I arrive early, at 11:30 a.m. I didn't make a reservation, and I know this place is popular... and deservedly so. Table 23... The view is splendid. Sheltered from the wind on the well-stocked terrace, everything is perfect. The staff is incredibly attentive; they speak excellent French, while my Italian is pitiful. I already don't want to leave. A nice cold Italian beer, my favorite dish (polenta with cheese and game—it's the end of the season, game might be a little scarce, but it doesn't matter). How I'd missed this dish. How I'd missed this place. An espresso, of course. €36. Time to leave, but my heart will stay here until next year (I hope). Forza Italia; even if it's volleyball...

We received a very poor welcome. The staff were not at all friendly: no smiles, no warmth whatsoever. It really felt like they were only there for the money.
We were barely seated before being given time to sit down or even look at the menu at our leisure. You practically had to know what you wanted to order before you even arrived. The dishes arrived in minutes, which only reinforced this feeling of being rushed.
As soon as someone finished their plate, it was immediately cleared away, and we were offered dessert right away, without waiting for everyone to finish eating. Everything was rushed, making it impossible to enjoy the experience.
The only positive points were the pleasant setting and the decent food.

The refuge is very quaint and well-kept. The food is excellent, although the prices are a bit high. Guests can rest on the chairs provided, and you can reach it directly from slope no. 7. Unfortunately, we arrived on foot via the Sentiero dei Caprioli, which was very tiring and challenging. The distance isn't long (about 1.5 km), but the snow was knee-deep in some sections, and the slopes are quite difficult for "normal" people with no experience. The website calls it a "walk," but with the snow, it's much more. Furthermore, there were no signs anywhere, and we often worried we'd be lost. The descent, however, is much quicker, especially if you have something to slide on! ;)

The area is nice... however, for what it is, it's very expensive. You're paying for the setting. Fine for a drink, but nothing more.

Beautiful place. Very crowded!
The food was decent but overpriced. Service was adequate considering how busy it was.

Typical, summer and winter, Italian cuisine, authentic Italian pasta. Excellent service, splendid setting! Reservations essential during peak season.

Lo Riondet restaurant is a quaint mountain hut located on the slopes above La Thuile, a favorite among those seeking a unique dining experience. Its specialty lies in its atmosphere: immersed in nature and snow during the winter, it can often be reached by snowmobile, making the evening even more charming and memorable.
The cuisine primarily features traditional Aosta Valley dishes, with hearty specialties suited to the mountain climate, such as polenta, meats, local cheeses, and other traditional local recipes. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, in a mountain hut style, features wooden furnishings that contribute to a convivial and relaxed atmosphere, ideal for a dinner with friends, family, or a romantic evening after a day of skiing.
Overall, Lo Riondet is considered a special place more for the experience and the ambiance than for the simple dinner: a place to experience a typical mountain evening, enjoying local cuisine and a charming setting.

After 40 km of skiing, we reach an oasis of courtesy, good food, and cheerfulness. Thanks to Alessandro, who, in the middle of the service, accommodated our request for raclette without a reservation. Professionalism and empathy...well done, guys, keep it up!
