We ate at Livio e il Mare two years ago and fell in love with it. So much so that we wanted to return, albeit a little shyly, after such a long time. It felt like coming home. Gilda and her daughter were wonderful hosts, welcoming, accommodating, and always available. They were a place to chat, more than just idle chit-chat. Livio, on the other hand, is a cook, an exceptional chef, who in his eccentric, experimental art—never banal and always exquisite—offered us not just a meal, but a journey, an experience. We'll be back again, always with a big smile, because home is always home. Ale&Fabi

I wanted to treat myself to a fish dinner for my birthday and since my daughter is celiac I did some research on the Internet... Given the many positive reviews, I booked at "Livio e il mare", a restaurant that, despite living in Pescara, I didn't know yet. A suggestive atmosphere, cuisine that reinterprets tradition, extreme attention to intolerances, raw seafood that struck me for the goodness and originality of the combinations... but above all the friendliness of chef Livio and his wife, who made us feel like special guests! Honorable mention for the oyster tasting... I can't explain why it's not one of the most renowned restaurants in the area! A birthday to remember 🥂

Chef fantasioso e servizio cortese.

Excellent attention to ingredients and the use of strictly local and select products. Livio is a highly cultured person who speaks volumes through his dishes, creating wonderful synergies. Compliments, of course, also go to the lady who kindly and charmingly explains each dish.

Castello Marcantonio

01/06/2025: A monument that stands on the remains of a large Roman villa, inhabited until late antiquity, which between the 6th and 7th centuries became a castrum of those Byzantines who had retained control of the nearby port of Aternum (Pescara) as a fundamental landing place and intermediate port between the capital of the Exarchate Ravenna and Constantinople, and who clearly created the first nucleus of the historic Torre Alex (from Alessandro Valignano, one of the lords of the Valignano family of Cepagatti in the 17th century). The tower was consolidated in the Lombard era as a control point of a strategic road junction at the crossroads between the S.S. Picena Aprutina and the routes that went up to Forca di Penne and the Aquilano, and which from the 11th-12th centuries became the seat of the lords of the fiefdom of the Norman, Swabian and Angevin eras of Cepagatti, and then passed from the 15th century to the Valignano family and finally to the current owners. The first archaeological investigations by the Superintendency date back to the 1970s and continued between 1998 and 2011 in Piazza S. Rocco, bringing to light important evidence of the Roman era preserved in the City Council Hall. The restoration of the Castle returns to the public the so-called “sala delle cisterne” (cistern room), an authentic and rare Roman cistern 22 meters long and 4 meters wide, as well as the “sala del grano” (grain room), 340 square meters large on the top floor of the monument with a panoramic view of the Pescara valley. The restoration of the Marcantonio Castle, begun in 2008, represents a “place in history” and the over 2000 square meters spread over 4 levels offer the possibility of hosting particularly evocative events. Unfortunately, it is now in decline due to problems with the owners and is closed. Too bad...

04/05/2025: I am a regular customer, especially in the summer, and the place, despite being small, is functional, very clean including the toilet, it is family-run, very kind staff, there is a TV, air conditioning; the kebabs are the best in Abruzzo, very soft and cooked with variable flavor based on the request, the kitchen is open so you can check that everything is ok and the service is fast. Excellent chips and sandwiches too. The lady cleans every table with sanitizing products and this is very important. I'll start going back soon. You can book on WhatsApp after 7pm Score 10 and praise
