Lido Mare Chiaro In Soverato

Let me start by saying that I love this place and Soverato. I have often eaten at San Domenico over the years and have always had a good time. Last week I went back like every summer and well... something has changed. I fear the chef. I order my usual spaghetti with clams: it arrives watered down, practically in broth and without parsley. I call the waiter and he very kindly makes me do it again. When he brings it back the dish is slightly better but nothing comparable to other spaghetti with clams tasted around Italy and even to San Domenico itself. The frying is made with absolutely fresh fish but the fried food is not excellent. What can I say, we can and perhaps we must, out of respect for the place and that sea, do better.

Poor quality pizza, I think they are only aimed at foreign tourists but in Soverato and not having chilli... disappointment (2018). I'll update the review since after a year things have improved. I must say that this year I was pleasantly surprised by the leap in quality, not so much for the pizza but for the cuisine in general which offers good dishes above average compared to the context. Attentive staff and fast service. The chilli pepper is now fresh and can be picked personally from the plants placed around the venue. Due to the enviable position of the beach, and the potential of the local cuisine, in my opinion the margins for improvement are very wide. I recommend it. 2024.New summer, I would say that there has been no improvement, perhaps the pizza is a little less good. I think the big problem is the context since on average, unfortunately, in these parts, mine among other things, the possibility or desire to improve is not taken much into consideration. If it cost little I could understand, but with the prices displayed on the menus, expecting more is a must.

The service is excellent, the location is truly suggestive with a direct view of the Soverato sea. We ate the grilled fish and the red tuna with Tropea onion: good quality fish cooked very well. And drank a delicious "Lamezia" white wine The truffle is also very good.

Excellent fried Paranza Friendly staff

Excellent family dinner. Fish not very fresh but cooked well, in generous portions, with fast, precise and attentive table service. I would have expected to pay slightly less for the saffron risotto requested without fish for the little girl. Cozy atmosphere with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea.

We booked last minute and they found us a table without any problems. We found a welcoming and pleasant location, friendly, kind and knowledgeable staff, a wheelchair slide and excellent food. The citrus tagliolini with mussels and clams and the trofie with pesto and clams are excellent. Highly recommended
