I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a great time. The atmosphere was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The French veal burger and the bouef au bourgognon were delicious. Service was quick, and the dishes were well-presented. Prices were average. Overall, I'll definitely return to try other dishes. One last thing that was very important to me was that there was no background noise despite the restaurant being full. The tables were well-spaced and there was no background music, so we could chat peacefully at the table without any difficulty.
If you plan to go on a Saturday, I recommend booking a few days in advance. They only book the first 8:00 PM slot, and after that, it's on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meat, pizzas, sandwiches. Nothing typically Catanian or Sicilian.
Sure, something a little out of the ordinary is fine; but it felt more like a pub/steakhouse than a Catanian restaurant.
Pleasant, youthful atmosphere; good service; medium-high prices.

Let's start small: the location is beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable. The service is immediately welcoming and helpful, escorting us to our table and even making requests quickly and courteously. The only downside is the very high prices, but they're worth it. Now for the highlight: the food. We had a fantastic onion soup, incredible; potatoes with pumpkin, speck, and gorgonzola, also delicious (and I don't eat gorgonzola); then we had a melt-in-the-mouth pork shank with potatoes, incredibly tender, delicious. We continued with a beef stew with creamed potatoes, also incredibly tender and delicious; the creamed potatoes were sensational. The sweet ricotta, pear, and chocolate cream might be a little cloying for those who aren't ricotta fans, but it's unique. Highly recommended; the quality is incredible. Also suitable for celiacs.

Food was mostly good. Service could improve (we were 40min without a waitor's visit, also 30 min passed between asking the bill and getting the bill)

There are restaurants that embrace the territory. And then there are restaurants that embrace an idea. L’Horloge definitely belongs to the latter category.
In a Catania dominated—rightly—by Sicilian cuisine, L’Horloge chooses a different path: a cuisine of French and European inspiration, warm, enveloping, almost bourgeois in the noblest sense of the word. Here, you don’t seek out Etna citrus fruits or revisited local seafood: you come for a properly made fondue, a deep and layered onion soup, and pork chops cooked with technique and respect for the raw ingredients.
The fondue is pure elegance: creamy, intense, balanced, without the heaviness that often ruins the dish. The onion soup is a small manifesto of patience: long cooking, natural sweetness, perfect gratin. The pork chops—simply—memorable. Juicy, flavorful, cooked to perfection.
The ambiance is refined but not stuffy: soft lighting, an intimate atmosphere, a sense of restraint that makes you feel more like you're in a Parisian bistro than a Sicilian restaurant. The service is attentive, cultured, and never intrusive. You can sense care and a precise vision.
L'Horloge is not a "trendy" restaurant. It's a restaurant with character.
It doesn't follow trends, but maintains a consistent identity: classic European cuisine, well-crafted, with depth and substance.
If you love distinct flavors, meticulously executed traditional dishes, and an elegant atmosphere without ostentation, this is the place for you.

One of my favorite places in Catania, super central, beautiful inside, with excellent cuisine across all dishes. The first and second courses are outstanding, but so are the sandwiches, specialty dishes, and pizzas... all excellent.
They're absolutely brilliant with pistachios! Among the absolute best.
