L’Etrusco In Grosseto

Let me start by saying that we ate very well; the dishes we ordered were truly excellent and of excellent quality. However, something went wrong with the bill, and so I asked for an explanation. I'll summarize: We ordered two platters of cured meats and cheeses chosen by the chef, two Maremma beef carpaccios (no sides as they were sold out), a bottle of water and a bottle of Fattorie di Magliano Morellino di Scansano DOCG 2020 wine, and two coffees. Finally, the waiter showed up with a bill of 102.50 (which became 102). I have the habit of occasionally doing the math in my head, just like that, due to my professional habits; something doesn't add up, and I ask for an explanation. The waiter panicked, trying everything to get close to the price but failing (he got to €99... although I don't know how he did it), making excuses that the platter wasn't €12 but €14 because there were cheeses (!!). He asked me if I'd included the service charge (which I confirmed... but he calculated it at €3.50 instead of €2.50). You can all get the actual bill by looking at the menu on their website: it comes out to €91 (including €5 for water, which is probably cheaper). I didn't ask for any money back; I left it as a tip. But I won't be back; for me, honesty is essential, as well as quality. Sorry. P.S.: Check your bill every now and then...

Quiet location, spectacular meat, very good appetizers and first courses as well. Very professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!

The food is very high quality (especially the meat), the staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is quiet, very close to the city center. Highly recommended for Tuscan meat!

We had the delicious Maremmana and special appetizers

Excellent dinner at this restaurant. I went with my wife, and we shared a platter of blue cheese (a delicious herbalist), and venison and goose cured meats. Delicious. Then we had a 1.2 kg Maremma rib-eye steak, truly tender and perfectly cooked. For dessert, a chocolate wafer with ricotta, honey, and walnuts, and a cantucci and vin santo, which rounded out the dinner divinely. The service was a bit long, but good value. A word of praise also for the service, courtesy of two talented young men who explained the dishes thoroughly. The wine was also excellent.

On our way back from Piombino, we stopped at this restaurant for lunch. Intrigued by the wonderful reviews we'd read, we decided to go. Dishes with extreme flavors; we were shocked by the starters. Everything was very good, and I felt compelled to leave a review. Believe me, it truly deserves it.
