We ate here two years ago and were really looking forward to our next visit. Just like two years ago, we were not disappointed. The food is fantastic, the selection is exquisite despite the rather small menu, and the service is excellent and very friendly. Reservations are a good idea. The restaurant is highly recommended. Thank you for the lovely evening (visit on August 17th).

On our way back from Elba Island, we stopped for a Florentine rib-eye steak at this wonderful osteria. Two spectacular steaks and an excellent Bolgari red.

The Eremita offers a small but varied menu. The dishes are all very tasty (especially the pork fillet with chestnut honey). The menu offers the option of customizing side dishes, which, of course, also come at an extra cost. We went there for dinner three times and were never disappointed.

A somewhat hidden restaurant in Montopoli, nestled in a cellar with a barrel vault and exposed brickwork. The restaurant is charming and well-maintained, and the staff are very friendly. The hermit's appetizer, featuring pecorino fondue with truffles, chicken liver pâté, pappa al pomodoro, coccole, cured meats, cheeses, and pickles, is delicious and plentiful—enough for a light dinner to share. The pici al Chianti and the tagliata with arugula and parmesan were also delicious, and paired with a bottle of house red, they completed the evening. The price is moderate, just right for the quantity and quality of the dishes. Recommended!

A good dinner. You enter a very charming setting, like a cave (a hermit's one might say). The service is friendly and competent. The appetizer was very good and plentiful; they probably would have eaten a lot of it alone. We then tried two first courses: the pici al chianti, which was very good and a bit different from the usual first courses; the tagliatelle with white ragù, on the other hand, was good but a bit dry. The price with wine was €37 per person, perhaps a bit steep. Overall, I would return.

Una piacevole scoperta. Le signore molto carine e gentili. Abbiamo mangiato un antipasto con salumi e formaggi eccellenti. Il risotto eccezionale. Carinissima anche la locazione. Ci torneremo sicuramente quando passeremo da quelle parti.

30/09/2025: A remarkable experience at this recently renovated restaurant. The interior is beautiful (it deserves 6 stars). At the entrance, there was a basket full of freshly picked porcini mushrooms, and we were completely blown away! We had carbonara with mushrooms (amazing, beautifully presented) and Florentine steak with a side of pan-fried porcini mushrooms—all delicious. We washed it all down with an excellent Brunello di Montalcino. The tiramisu to finish was truly generous, prepared individually in a beautiful glass. The service was friendly and attentive; the owner is a true gentleman who discreetly accompanied us throughout the evening. I can't wait to go back! Bravo!
29/09/2025: Everything was perfect, the service with very friendly people and some spoke French, the cuisine and the papardelle carbonara with truffles and those with porcini mushrooms, succulent, the owners at the top, we wouldn't want another restaurant.

L'Hamburgheria di Volterra

04/09/2025: Nice and clean place, excellent, I highly recommend it. Sandwiches and wraps made with top-quality local ingredients, everything made in-house, including the fries, which are nothing like the frozen ones at the big fast food restaurants. I really appreciate the decision to sell the molecule and recommend purchasing an Italian product whose taste is identical to the original and whose brand doesn't support genocide. The staff is also extremely kind and helpful.
01/09/2025: We were on vacation in Volterra and found this place after reading the reviews. The business is run by two very friendly and helpful people. You can tell they care about the quality of their products. The bread is homemade, as are the Chianti piadinas (very good and unique). The sauces are also artisanal. A special mention goes to the chips, which are cut and fried freshly, without frozen products—a reminder of home-cooked meals from the past. I highly recommend them for a quality sandwich, which even my teenage daughters loved. The Molecola Italian soft drink, identical to the famous American soda, is also good.
