Le Grottelle In Capri

The price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all, a Spaghetti Vongole for 35 euros is already an announcement and it also tasted mediocre. The terrace is very nice and has a great view, but you have to pay extra for that too. To reach the restaurant you have to walk about 20 minutes from the center of Capri through narrow streets, which can be very nice because you see many small houses that you don't get to see.

Exceptional restaurant! First of all, you have to earn the meal since from the center of Capri, it is about fifteen minutes of walking uphill. But it's definitely worth it: very, very friendly staff, magnificent view, we had free focaccia as an aperitif, and the meal was very good! We had the ravioli and eggplant pasta. To finish in style: the limoncello cream dessert was delicious. It’s an authentic Italian atmosphere. Remember to book 😀

Be prepared for quite a walk to Le Grottelle - but once you are there, you'll be happy you made it! The views were tremendous and the meal was great. The staff also were so kind and gracious. We can't wait to be back!

I always try to refer to existing reviews and put them into perspective. First of all, Capri is insanely expensive. Le Grotelle is within the framework for this. The island has to import everything by boat, except some fruits, vegetables and limoncello 😉. I didn't see a brewery or a winery. The food was very good, the staff was super friendly and funny (although at Easter time, so pleasant temperatures and not too crowded) Side dishes are really overpriced, fries cost €8 and the quantity is manageable. Zucchini fried in oil with mint for €9 is also steep, but much better. What is really a rip-off is the Coperto, the €5 (2025), which is actually €7 down in the restaurant on the rocks, does not have to be brought by boat. The operators will not question the day tourism that prevails on Capri. So you either pack a backpack with food or play the game and enjoy the day.

Exceptional views, excellent cuisine, friendly and never pretentious service, feeling at home on Capri, spending the right amount and eating well is not at all a given.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier und haben auf der Terrasse mit Meeresblick zu Abend gegessen. Hervorzuheben ist der sehr gute, schnelle und freundliche Service. Das Essen war geschmacklich gut, die Karte vielseitig und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis angemessen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
