A wonderful discovery. A creative place, both in terms of ambiance and cuisine. A few carefully selected and refined dishes. Small place, few people. LITTLE, but GOOD.

My favorite restaurant in the entire Valdigne.
The cuisine is creative yet solid, with Japanese influences (the chef is Japanese), and truly exceptional. From appetizers to dessert, the menu is short, but every dish is a treat.
Even though I don't drink alcohol, I still come here: it's truly exceptional. My only complaint is that the portions are a bit small.
According to my fellow diners, the wine list is superb.
The atmosphere is refined yet relaxed, truly pleasant.
Prices are reasonable for the quality; it's easy to spend over €50, but it's worth every penny.
Plus, they're open outside of high season, which is rare in the area.

A strategic stop before tackling the Mont Blanc tunnel. We wandered in by chance and left thrilled. An excellent hot dog, wrapped in soft brioche bread and topped with tasty vegetables. We couldn't have asked for anything better! The coffee was also good and the beer was amazing. Well done, the two partners. I'd like to try the dinner menu, but I promise I'll be back. The price was reasonable (30 euros for two, with water, beer, and coffee).

A hidden gastronomic gem just steps from Courmayeur
In a small hamlet outside Courmayeur lies a truly special restaurant, led by a Japanese chef who masterfully blends local tradition with Eastern sophistication. Here, every dish is a discovery and a journey of flavors.
We began with a combination of fresh, vibrant ingredients from the local garden, prepared to bring out every nuance. The venison fillet, cooked to perfection, was accompanied by crisp, flavorful sautéed local vegetables. The Japanese-style ravioli confirmed the chef's elegance and precision, both in technique and presentation.
The highlight came with the desserts, two truly memorable creations. The first was a velvety panna cotta base, served with amarena cherries on the side and delicate cubes of mirin jelly: a perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, and aroma. The second course, however, featured gelato with a unique texture and flavor—reminiscent of fior di latte, but with a more sophisticated twist—topped with a soft "leaf" made with coconut cream: a work of art.
Each course confirmed a level of quality that rivals that of a Michelin-starred restaurant, all at a more than reasonable price. The wine list is carefully curated and expertly recommended, featuring excellent local labels.
The menu changes frequently, which is yet another reason to return... except that we're unfortunately far from Courmayeur. If you're lucky enough to be in the area, don't miss out on this experience. You won't regret it.

What a wonderful place, L'Armadillo.
And how talented Sato and Carmine are!
The summer menu is truly out of this world, "Il nostro Orto" (Our Garden) is a dish of the highest cuisine. Leave the wine to Carmine, who knows what he's doing. Well done everyone, a great fine dining experience.

We had dinner at this restaurant and had a truly wonderful time. The cuisine is refined and made with excellent, high-quality ingredients. The dessert was out of this world. The young and enterprising people who run it bring added value to the local area. It's a must-visit!
