L'Arcimboldo In Bologna

Every time I'm in Bologna I go to the Arcimboldo restaurant. Excellent quality food, very refined presentation. Highly recommended

In the center of Bologna a restaurant where you eat very well. High quality dishes and well presented. Attentive and attentive service. Quiet and good environment. Prices tend to be high but commensurate with the quality

Very good restaurant. The visuals and presentation are impeccable. The flavours bind really well. Lamb and the cod are both cooked perfectly and well-seasoned. Downside is I really dislike how the chestnuts were cooked in vinegar. When I saw the menu, I was picturing a rack of lamb sitting on a chestnut puree with a slight vinegar glaze on top of the lamb. However, chestnuts are served whole and taste like they been sitting in balsamic vinegar for quite a while! It is very sour and does not balance the fattiness of the lamb the way I was thinking of. However, lamb is very tender and cooked on point, coated with bit of pistachios too. Very upscale place. Prices reflect that way as well. About €30 per dish.

On the recommendation of a trusted person I tried this restaurant. We were seated in the downstairs room which, unfortunately, does not have the same charm as the one upstairs. Among other things, it was also very cold and the furnishings did not particularly match each other. As appetizers we took: crescentina and galantina. Both truly exceptional, especially the beef ossocollo. As first courses: lasagna and tortellini in broth. Unfortunately the lasagna was really dry and the tortellini tasteless. Dessert: old-fashioned panna cotta, not to my taste. Service not exactly up to the level of the place but certainly very kind. Price definitely too high for the offer. I don't feel like recommending it and I don't think I will return.

We arrived from Venice into Bologna. It was an uneventful journey on the train & an easy walk to our hotel. It’s stinking hot & we are feeling tired & in need of rest & a meal. My darling husband has become the restaurant Hunter on this holiday & done extremely well so when he said there’s a nice place 100 metres from the hotel, I was happy to agree. I didn’t know I was about to enter heaven. The waiter was charming, the decor was beautiful & the food was the best Italian I’ve EVER eaten. I nearly cried. It was complex without being arrogant. Just flavoursome & absolutely scrumptious. Bellisimo. Gracie Chef. Grazie Millie.

Acudimos sin reserva pero mejor no arriesgarse porque apenas tiene 10 mesas , eso sí amplias para poder estar cómodos. Es un restaurante pequeño que cuidan los detalles de menaje y donde el servicio es muy amable , dispuesto a recomendar. Cuentan con cervezas artesanas locales y amplía carta de vinos de la región romana y de Italia . La comida destaca por su bonita Presentación y su sabor . Nos decidimos por compartir 3 platos que fueron un acierto : tortellini en sopa como dicen ellos son espectaculares, lasaña súper casera de ragut y un cierre de escalope muy local . El local está en una calle de no mucho paso pero merece la pena disfrutar de una comida de nivel y despegarse un poco de la zona turística. Precio para 2 pax con vino : 110euros Iva incluido ( que es del 10 %)
