26/02/2025: I have visited Cantinetta, located at the beginning of Via Ripamonti, several times and I find it an excellent option for meat lovers. The location is very convenient and the place has a typical meat-lovers atmosphere.
Every visit is a culinary pleasure, especially for the Florentine steak, served in generous portions of 1.2/1.4 kg, always to perfection. The appetizers, such as tartare and carpaccio, are also of high quality. The Florentine steak is also very competitively priced. The first courses are good, although not exceptional, but the meat is definitely the star of the menu.
I am not giving five stars mainly because of the service, which needs some improvement. The waiters are efficient but can sometimes seem a bit unaccommodating. For example, I personally prefer my meat rare and here it is cooked beautifully to that preference. However, I have noticed that the waiters tend to insist on how the meat should be cooked, often refusing to accept requests for more advanced cooking from customers. I firmly believe that a customer's desire to have the meat cooked the most should be respected, maintaining a flexible and customer-oriented approach.
Another point to review is the wait for the bill, which often exceeds 15 minutes, and the line at the cash register, always crowded and positioned in a spot that congests the place.
Despite these aspects, the food has always been impeccable, fully deserving four stars.
