05/01/2025: Great food, service a little slow at times. Pleasant environment. Toilets...need modernization...
22/12/2024: A Chinese To-Go for Milan’s hustling crowd - A must for me. Strangely, it’s a Chinese restaurant where you feel at home.
This isn’t the plush fusion spot in the city center, catering to models, footballers, and idlers, where everything is dimly lit, and the portions are microscopic. Nor is it the glitzy All You Can Eat on the outskirts, with flashy decor and endless, low-quality dishes. And it’s certainly not the cramped, uninviting Asian eatery you’d never step into.
We’re in the more bourgeois, industrious heart of Milan: Piazzale Baracca, Conciliazione, Magenta, and Vercelli - a bustling area for those on the go.
The atmosphere offers an idyllic interpretation of China, which we can appreciate. It’s clean, bright, and well-organized. Tables are close but never noisy, ensuring private conversations. It’s a place for families, friends, and non-glamorous couples to gather.
Service follows the Confucian style typical of Chinese restaurants: don’t expect the smiles and reverence of Thai or Balinese hospitality. But here, the staff are fast, polite, and surprisingly warm - which is a welcome touch.
The food? Chinese cuisine is tailored for Milan, but there’s also a dedicated sushi section to keep things from feeling like an All You Can Eat free-for-all. Dishes are well-prepared and nicely presented, with portions that satisfy.
It’s a bourgeois Chinese trattoria for practical people - those who savor life but are always on the move.
