L'Antica Salumeria Ortigia In Siracusa

Right at the beginning of Via Cavour and whenever I've been there I've always had a good time.

We stayed here for two evenings in mid-August and weren't disappointed either way. Marco gave us a very warm welcome both evenings and treated us to delicious wine and an outstanding cheese and sausage platter. On the second evening, we also had a delicious meal. Unfortunately, I can't say what it was because he surprised us, but this too was excellent. Marco is not only warm and funny, but also very helpful. He sat down with me while I was having a circulatory collapse and also supported us with water and other offers of assistance. Marco didn't leave our side until everything was absolutely back to normal. So, if you enjoy pleasant surprises, whether culinary or wine, surrounded by friendly people and owners, this is the place for you.

The food and beer were delicious and the music is amazing!!

We were actually just looking to escape the unbearable heat of Ortigia, so we spontaneously stopped at L'Antica Salumeria. As it quickly turned out, it was definitely the right decision! If you're in the mood for smaller, authentic, and high-quality dishes during the day—given the sweltering Sicilian summer heat—then this salumeria is definitely the place to go.

We stopped by by chance, and it was a great choice! Delicious octopus sandwich, decent arancini, great atmosphere, and super friendly and helpful staff.

Got some great recommendations from the owner and the food was simply to die for. Seating fee is 1€, so be aware of that. But prices are more than reasonable for the high quality food you can expect and the lovely service.

Well-located restaurant in the center of Ortigia and good for a quick lunch.

We ended up here by chance because they have gluten-free options. The food was authentic and good. Friendly staff with good explanations of the food and drinks. We felt very comfortable here.

Very welcoming waiting staff/host. Great recommendations from host, very good selection of cheeses. Local beers were very refreshing.

We found this place around lunch time and we had the most wonderful time! I am vegan and so we thought maybe there would not be anything for me but they offered to make me a vegan plate with aubergines, zucchini, olives, grilled bell peppers and a marvellous sun-dried tomato mix and nice bread as well, like fresh out of the oven. We asked for a recommendation for the wine and it paired great with the food. My mother who was travelling with me had a nice plate some meat and cheese that she really enjoyed. Well worth the money and such friendly service. (Thank you!) We would definitely come back.
