We have been to this family-run restaurant and we were thrilled. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, we sat on the outdoor terrace under an enchanting pergola, with a breathtaking view that alone is worth the visit. We chose the Valtellina menu and were impressed by the quality of the ingredients. Each dish tells a story of tradition and passion: you can clearly perceive the study and love that the chef puts into every detail. An authentic experience that I highly recommend. I will definitely return with pleasure.

Forty-five years ago we went to S Barnaba to have lunch with the trout alla piota from the farm of the father of the current managers of the extraordinary starred restaurant Lanterna Verde. The chef with his team and the sommelier who guides you through hundreds of labels are the prelude to an absolutely exceptional tasting experience that leaves Italian and foreign customers amazed (there are now many guests who come down from Saint Moritz to dine at Villa di Chiavenna). I have heard about this restaurant many times and everyone has praised its exceptional cuisine. Even though the menu is always the same, I can't judge it since I've never been there. Finally it was time to try it and I can say that every dish I tasted was phenomenal. I made my wife so happy and I'm really glad I chose to go. I will definitely be back! Thank you for this amazing dining experience!

Mancavo in questo locale da un paio d'anni. L'ambiente è arioso e piacevole come sempre. Ho assaggiato un menù degustazione: insalata russa invernale; anguilla glassata con invidia; lasagnetta con carciofi, taleggio e zafferano; suprema di faraona con castagne e tartufo; semifreddo all'arancio e pistacchio, panettone con cioccolato e maroni. Tutto buono, con sapori ben equilibrati anche se a discapito di un po' di incisività. I piatti migliori: l'anguilla laccata e il semifreddo. Carta dei vini imponente. Il servizio è stato cortese, professionale anche se un poco lento. Per quel che ho mangiato e per una bottiglia di vino ho speso circa 120€. In conclusione il posto, come nel passato, è ancora molto piacevole e meritevole di una visita.
