A delicious dinner where tradition meets innovation, reasonably priced, and very friendly and helpful staff. The only downside is that, being close to the holidays, some dishes were sold out. We'll definitely be back.

Ristorante tranquillo in un paese tranquillo. Abbiamo pranzato una domenica a pranzo nel dehor. Piatti della tradizione, con prodotti eccellenti e ben curati. Carta vini studiata e ricca. La cosa migliore è il titolare, professionale gentile e ci ha consigliato su tutto. Ci ritorneremo! Valete più di quello che sembra, che è già tanto. Bravissimi! 👏🏻

A truly unexpected experience! A fresh, family-friendly atmosphere, excellent, unique cuisine, meticulous attention to the needs of diners, prompt service, and a truly courteous staff. Parking is also available in the small square in front... wheelchair accessibility is also possible, as the restaurant is on the ground floor. Definitely worth returning to!

We came across it a bit by chance for lunch this weekend, a place with a unique atmosphere, wonderful paintings on all the walls and spectacular antique-style furnishings, the menu really unexpected, in step with the times and really well-finished, the risotto with shrimp and courgettes really special as the appetizer of cured meats and homemade giardiniera so abundant that it could be a second course. Really rich and quality wine cellar. Really friendly and attentive service with a lot of attention to the customer. I highly recommend the place.

Pranzo nel dì Pasqua, ristorante tutto occupato, piatti alla carta. Per me è stata la prima volta al "La Vecchia Scuola", che si trova nella frazione Duomo del comune di Rovato, dove invece era già stata mia moglie. Ci siamo goduti, in ordine sparso fra lei e me, Lumache lardellate alle erbe aromatiche su crema di patate e gocce di aglio nero (13 euro), Uovo BIO in camicia su vellutata di castagne con pecorino romano e porro fritto (13 euro), Risotto di riso Carnaroli "Carena" mantecato alla zucca con speck d'oca affumicato a cubettini e crema di Robiola DOP (16 euro), Tortello di branzino con ratatouille di pomodoro, zucchine croccanti, capasanta di Boston e olio al basilico (20 euro, i tortelli sono stati il mio dessert), Capretto al forno con polenta (16 euro) e Fragole sfumate al Porto con pallina di gelato alla vaniglia (7 euro). Tutti i piatti e il dessert sono stati una vera delizia, oltretutto a prezzi moderati per una qualità molto alta (per me splendido il risotto). Oltre all'acqua minerale, due calici di Nebbiolo (4 euro l'uno).Servizio in sala perfetto e grande lavoro della brigata di cucina, che ha dato una gran bella prova di sè, considerando quanto abbiamo gustato e ci siamo goduti, per totale di 100 euro. Di sicuro ci ritorneremo, sono davvero bravi, lì alla "Vecchia Scuola".
