Truly a wonderful discovery. In the old Cesano which seems like a ghost town, the restaurant becomes a meeting point and a pleasant moment of exchange.
The rustic furnishings and the truth about the valley make the environment very pleasant.
The food is great. It is a predominantly meat restaurant and also revisited Roman dishes. But even those who don't eat meat find delicious ideas.
Like fried vegetables, spicy onion sauce, artichokes (or porcini mushrooms when the time is right). But also pay attention to the side dishes and stuffed pasta. The ability to orchestrate classic flavors is truly special, giving a touch of vitality to every dish.
Kind and friendly service. Price more than fair in relation to the quality and hospitality.

It was the second time I went to this restaurant. The first time, in the summer, it made an excellent impression on me...but I had consumed light food...so nothing to complain about.
This time, cold and rain outside, we ordered the grilled meat, specifically sliced beef and lamb. The dishes arrived at the table on chopping boards made of rough solid wood (which, as far as I know, are absolutely prohibited in public kitchens, as the wood absorbs into its grain and cracks and it is impossible to sterilize and disinfect in a suitable way) very heavy and bulky... to the point that the waiter himself had difficulty carrying them (so much so that he tilted it too much causing the oil to drip onto the table and onto our clothes. The cut had already been cut and the slices had been spaced e placed in no particular order on this cutting board...so the meat got cold in a few minutes...I ate half of it completely cold. Same thing for the lamb...the ribs immediately became cold and tough owners to completely eliminate the use of raw wood and possibly replace it with slate plates (lighter and easily washable in the dishwasher). Furthermore, again to enhance the meat, make a more compact plating, so that the heat does not disperse immediately. The other dishes were good, but nothing extraordinary, however in line with the prices. The restaurant atmosphere, the seats between the tables are a little too narrow. I would like to go back and try their other dishes because the menu was very rich... with the hope that in the meantime they will use the unhygienic and bulky cutting boards to make the grill! 😅

Nice surprise in the village of Cesano, excellent food strictly on the grill with specialties that cannot be found in other places, the sheep chops, the livers, the sautéed escarole and the onion salad are a spectacle! Well-stocked cellar. Cheerful and informal service, very friendly and attentive. The only complaint is that the tables are too small. Well done!

The meats are good, both grilled and stewed.
First courses that can be improved, the Vecchia Mola fettuccine are pleasant. Uninspiring appetizer dishes. The service is good, efficient and friendly, the room is comfortable

Cesano di Roma è quasi fuori dal tempo, una luogo sospeso in qui la metropoli lascia il posto ad un vecchio borgo silente...e che piacere dev’essere, nella bella stagione, accomodarsi ai tavoli apparecchiati all’esterno nella caratteristica piazzetta, come a ritrovarsi in una fotografia d’epoca.
Se avete voglia di funghi, non perdete l’opportunità di una bella scorpacciata. I porcini, arrosto o fritti, sono semplicemente strepitosi, un’autentica leccornia!!!
Ottimi anche i primi piatti: stringozzi al sugo di castrato gustosissimi , e i sorprendenti tagliolini al tartufo nero (da segnalare la qualità della materia prima!!!).
Carne alla brace molto buona ma non proprio indimenticabile a dire il vero, o per meglio dire lievemente al di sotto delle aspettative: abbacchio a scottadito che avrei gradito più tenero e succoso, e fegatini di maiale un tantino coriacei al morso.
Dettagli comunque trascurabili, che non hanno in fin dei conti guastato la piacevolezza di una gran bella mangiata.
Personale giovane e puntuale, e conto davvero super corretto, anche in relazione alla varietà ed alla qualità delle proposte.
Una di quelle trattorie dove si esce sazi e contenti, con quel piccolo e piacevole rimpianto di non aver priovato tutto, e con l’impegno quindi di tornare quanto prima!!!

Parto dall'ambiente, rustico ad al tempo stesso caldo e accogliente, personale simpaticissimo, cortese e affabile. Passando al cibo, tutto buono, dagli antipasti, ai primi fino ad arrivare alla carne buonissima e di cotta alla perfezione. Top
