The restaurant looks very inviting. The waitress was friendly and brought us to another indoor table upstairs but no one came to take order till we were about to leave.
We ordered the pasta n cold cuts. Food was quite good. Service could be better.

Beautiful location in the heart of Bologna's historic center. We had lunch outside, which is very quaint. We ordered a charcuterie and cheese platter with two glasses of wine. Everything was good, but the quality of the charcuterie was better at other restaurants in Bologna.

So!
• Quality products are expensive, especially local ones, so if you want to pay €20 for a platter (€10 per person), go to the supermarket.
• I've read complaints about the place; it's a shop, not a hotel. Do you know what a shop means?
Personally, I found the staff very knowledgeable about wine!
We ordered two bottles of wine and two platters!

Quite touristy, but that's precisely why I appreciated the staff and Vittoria's very kindness in recommending light dishes in an area that's certainly not for gymnasts. I recommend it, excellent quality.

A shop selling local products with tables upstairs for eating and drinking. We ordered a charcuterie board with some local cheese and tigella. Everything was delicious.

I went on Valentine's Day. The place was packed, but we still found a table inside. The setting is excellent and traditional, like a Bolognese osteria! A €30 mixed platter feeds two people. The platter was good; the mortadella wasn't exceptional, but the spiced lard was truly excellent, as were the tigelle! The table service was provided by a very kind young woman. I would recommend it.

INCIPIT: A shop steeped in history
LOCATION:
La Baita Vecchia Malga is located in the historic center of Bologna, on Via Pescherie Vecchie.
HISTORY:
The company was founded in 1969 as a distributor of typical local products to businesses in Bologna.
Over the decades, it has grown into what it is today, with various locations, including this one in Bologna City Center.
ATMOSPHERE:
When you enter the Baita, in an atmosphere typical of the city's ancient shops, you are immersed in a multisensory experience thanks to the many products that are the pride of this region, such as aged Parmigiano Reggiano and cured meats.
A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
Among the many products available, we took the opportunity to delve into the platters, such as:
"La Baita" platter with Parma ham, Bologna mortadella, salami, Colonnata lard, squacquerone, caciotta bell'Emilia, and caper berries (never eaten but delicious), all served with tigelle.
"Vecchia Malga" platter with Parma ham, Bologna mortadella, pink salami, coppa di testa, squacquerone, grated Nero cheese, seasoned lard,
red onion in red wine vinegar, all served with tigelle.
Since the portions were generous, we then ordered more tigelle, washed down with an excellent red wine.
Photographing this place means capturing a fragment of history: a small sign that encapsulates the identity of an entire era.
CONCLUSION: AN IMMERSION IN TRADITION
Walking through Bologna's historic center along Via Pescherie Vecchie is a thrilling experience, thanks to the unique streetside shops, like the old businesses that once displayed their wares directly on the street.
Then you arrive at the Baita Vecchia Malga, where you can enjoy a 360-degree experience of this city's gastronomic delights.
