The place is expensive for the quality. Today for lunch, we had a better meal at a trattoria near Bronte, paying €12.50 for two. Here, we paid €105 for a paltry appetizer of cured meats and cheeses with nothing special, a terrible ricotta and pistachio ravioli, and a good mixed grill of seafood. The only positive was the rather friendly waiter. In my opinion, the price is high, especially since the place is outside of the center of Taormina and not at all well-maintained.

We have been eating here for 2 nights now. We also found out another couple sitting next table to us also here for their second night. So that must say something. This place has a homey feel away from the noise. The food is great. Try it.

After asking (as always a good idea) our taxi driver upon arriving, he recommended this place as we drove up. Taxi drivers know. We ended up eating lunch here 3 days in a row it was that good. Locals mainly, non touristy. Family run. Great people watching on the patio, cold beers, great wine and good home Sicilian cooking. Close to our hotel. Prices outside the Porta Catania gate are much cheaper than the main area of Taormina. It's where the locals go. Highly recommend.

08/01/2026: A place furnished with care and style; we came on a Friday night with live music playing. It's popular with young people, but it's suitable for all ages. The aperitif is an excellent choice, and the bartenders serve excellent cocktails. A decent selection of wines is available. The only flaw: the bathroom door faces the hallway.
05/01/2026: TOP pizza, excellent quality, clean and tidy environment, impeccable and discreet service. A longer review wouldn't add anything to what's already been written. Only by trying it can you fully appreciate the experience. The heart of the town with its characteristic landscape is just steps away. It's important to note that the restaurant is accessible via a private service elevator that takes you to the restaurant floor, which is otherwise accessed by a flight of stairs.

Ristorante l'Ossidiana

10/02/2026: Got a nice tour through Etna wines, they opened up fresh bottles and server is by glass on what we asked for. Served us local pasta dishes, after 15.00 closing hours.. Amazing food, wine and service.
20/01/2026: We celebrated my father's 70th birthday and couldn't have made a better choice. A welcoming and elegant venue right in the city center. We chose the menu from among the many options available with the owner and chef, Mr. Ficarra, who accommodated all our requests. He's a delightful and helpful person, along with his entire family. The menu was enjoyed by both adults and children, the fish was incredibly fresh and the portions generous. Every detail was carefully considered, from the table decorations to the printed menu as a keepsake. All this was accompanied by impeccable service thanks to the kindness and friendliness of the staff. Thank you for making our day even more special. We recommend it to everyone. We'll see you again soon.
