While improvised places open and close in Lecce, the Tower has remained the garrison of good food for thirty years. Extraordinary chef, very kind staff and everything homemade, starting from the bread.

We celebrated our 28th anniversary a Torre di Merlino on a recommendation from our Airbnb host. Fabulous. The staff was kind and attentive. The sous chef recommended wonderful dishes and made sure we did not order too much. We shared a fococcia with basil, local orcecchiette with olives and tomatoes, and a seared tuna. All devine. An absolutely wonderful evening. Thank you!

Characteristic location with barrel vaults and chianche floors that recall the old taverns with attention to detail, impeccable service and what can I say, compliments to the chef. If we go back... Sure.

Il est agréable d’y dîner sur la terrasse, dans une rue calme. L’accueil pourrait être plus chaleureux . Les plats issus du terroir sont simples mais bons. Il vaut mieux réserver.

Questa sera, dopo diversi giorni nel Salento, sono finalmente riuscito a mangiare un piatto di orecchiette con le cime di rapa preparato come si deve. Le cime erano amare come la cicoria e inizialmente avevo pensato che fossero di un tipo particolare che cresce solo qui, ma poi ho scoperto che si tratta di una primizia e che le cime a inizio stagione sono amare. Ottimo anche il crostino con la stracciatella e le alici. Il pasticciotto scomposto invece lo avrei preferito meno bollente. Molto gentile la signora che mi ha amabilmente intrattenuto a parlare di tutto al momento del pagamento del conto (decisamente onesto) e mi ha offerto i biscottini con il vino dolce.
