La Torre di Lavello In Tuscania

Exceptional lunch, genuine products used wisely. Great find!

I go to this place with my family at least once a year and at the Befana it has now become a tradition for us to eat here. Probably the best fillet you can enjoy in Lazio, perhaps at the table in front of the fireplace and the window overlooking the most beautiful panorama of Tuscania, with the perfect cheese platter to start the meal off to a great start. Abundant dishes, good wine, fast service and very helpful.Love

We went on Sunday for a family lunch, there were 10 of us, we ate splendidly!!! Truly a lunch in which the excellent food, the punctual service and the right bill in the end allowed us to spend a wonderful Sunday. More than recommended!

Dall’esterno il ristorante è molto bello, in una torre con una bella terra in cui in primavera/estate si può mangiare. In inverno però, dovendo mangiare all’interno si entra in un locale che che non risponde alle aspettative. L’entrata è angusta e piuttosto sciatta e si apre su uno stanzone che sembra l’interno più di una pizzeria che di un ristorante in una torre medioevale: plafoniere in alluminio e vetro, pareti metà verdine e metà bianche con una striscia di alluminio che divide i due colori di tinteggiatura, addobbi natalizi con festoni anni 60 e cv lucine multicolor. Bicchieri da osteria e tovagliato anonimo. Detto questo, il menù offriva una enorme varietà di piatti della tradizione romana più o meno rivisitati. Una cacio e pepe al tartufo piuttosto greve di salsa e in cui il tartufo non riusciva a dare il contributo perché poco e poco saporito. Tagliatelle con vellutata di ceci, castagne, tartufo e guanciale, buone ma non eccezionali. Filetto di maiale con julienne di verdure e crema di parmigiano: piatto non centrato. Il filetto sembrava lessato e il piatto era nel complesso piuttosto dolciastro e poco bilanciato. Nel complesso la cena non è stata cattiva ma non ha corrisposto alle aspettative e alle recensioni. Peccato che una location dall’esterno così bella e suggestiva.all’interno non le renda giustizia

Magnificent place but the interior could be better looked after... it wouldn't be enough because in spring/summer it's very beautiful outside. Warm and kind service and we ate and drank like kings!! Highly recommended.

Excellent restaurant in the village of Tuscania, with a terrace overlooking the Torre di Lavello and the beautiful panorama of the Church of San Pietro and the surrounding hills. We enjoyed two excellent dinners with a group of friends for a photography course and we were able to taste various dishes, all very tasty (the courgette flowers with truffles and stuffed with ricotta deserve special mention, but also the other appetizers, the first courses, the secondly, the desserts...) and expertly prepared. We also appreciated the professionalism of the waitresses and the courtesy of the owner who stopped by to greet us and kindly offer us a taste of freshly picked ovoli mushrooms. We complimented him on the quality of the dishes and the service and as a true gentleman he pointed out to us that without his precious staff, the success of his restaurant would not be possible. A restaurant truly managed with so much care and passion!

Questo ristorante è sempre una garanzia. Veniamo spesso a La Torre di Lavello per l'atmosfera genuina sia all'interno, sia all'esterno del locale, ma soprattutto per i piatti davvero ottimi. La tartare come antipasto ci è piaciuta molto, ma con i ravioli ripieni di patate come primo, si sono proprio superati; ottimo anche l'agnello con i funghi e le patate, un sapore intenso, perfetto per concludere la cena. Consiglio di fare un piccolo "sforzo" e di assaggiare anche i dolci, buonissimi. È stata davvero una bella esperienza, l'ennesima conferma per noi.

Recommended by our B&B hostess we enjoyed a wonderful meal here. We started with the antipasta which provided us each with an ample variation of tasty meats, veggies and a chess choice. We both had pastas, very different but equally delicious. The flavours were perfect. We finished off with an interesting salad. The price for the meal was far less than what i would pay at home. This place is an absolute must when in Tuscania.
