We went to Torate twice during our vacation in Carnia. Once, we ate delicious frico and polenta. The Sacher torte was a bit dry. The second time, we had pizza, and I have to say it was truly delicious. The service was impeccable, the waiters were very kind, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. RECOMMENDED.

A truly excellent restaurant. They have very good meat dishes. The tagliata is excellent. Prices are very reasonable and much lower than in the Dolomites.

On the recommendation of our landlord, we came to this restaurant for dinner! Excellent recommendation!
We thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer with cheeses from the Sutrio dairy, complete with explanations of the younger and older varieties.
For the main course, the slow-cooked pork tenderloin with mushrooms and potato and speck triangles was delicious, as was the venison with polenta and vegetables that my companion ordered!
Reservations recommended, almost mandatory!

A truly exceptional place!! Starting from the welcome, the friendliness and warmth that was transmitted to us and last but not least, the quality of the food. I had an exceptional pizza and my partner had ribs with fries... Well, guys.... Amazing!! And to finish, a tiramisu that you can't find anywhere anymore, unfortunately. The final surprise??? The bill!! Guys, too honest, for us it was €50, what a laugh. It's a shame we discovered it on the last night of the holidays but we will definitely be back in November!!!! Well done!!!!

I tried their cuisine.
For my appetizer, I had a selection of cured meats with a basket of crispy frico. The cured meats weren't up to par with local produce, especially after having sampled the cured meats from the Lavareit farm the same day. Too bad.
For my main course, I chose the cjarsons.
The sweet cocoa ones are good, but the herb ones... well, there's not a hint of herbs inside, neither in taste nor appearance. Just a faint hint of sultanas that gives the dish a sweetish flavor. No mint, dandelion, lemon balm, nettle, silene... or rather, what you'd expect from a herb cjarson. It's a shame because they look very well made, and the dough is perfect.
Next time, I'll try the pizza, even though 34 types are way too many. Obviously, such a vast selection is challenging, not to mention the quality of the ingredients, which can't be top-notch. I hope it's the dough.
The service was friendly, even though when I asked what kind of herbs were in the cjarson, I was told that he didn't know... and I never knew.
