Trattoria located in the historic center of Chieti Alta, very nice place inside with checkered tablecloths and glasses, carafes of wine that recall the real trattorias of the past, simple but traditional food, generous but good portions. “L’oste” was a little on his side, but the atmosphere was still that of a real trattoria: informal. Cheap prices. Abundant first and second courses, with water: 20 euros.

Already from the scent that I could smell at the beginning of the street I understood that in this restaurant the food is divine. And so it was, I ate a huge portion of pasta meunière and an excellent grilled veal burger with a side of vegetables served by the kind and friendly staff at very affordable prices.
If I return to Chieti I will come here again at the "Tavernetta"!

Trattoria tipica abruzzese, permette di mangiare in un ambiente rustico e ospitale a prezzi moderati. Piatti cucinati bene e carne molto buona. Se proprio devo trovare un difetto, gli arrosticini non sono stati i migliori che abbia mai mangiato

We were looking for a place to try Abruzzo cuisine in Chieti and we found it.
There will probably be better, but we had a very good time here.
Abundant dishes prepared with love and quality raw materials.
The restaurant is very popular and being small, reservations are a must, especially during holidays or weekends
The service is informal but attentive, so much so that the owner, seeing as we were foreigners, asked us if we wanted to taste the 24/25 extra virgin olive oil, well what can I say... a real delight with homemade bread.
The sagne with chickpeas was divine, with the crunchy note given by fried pasta fillets and a good dose of whole chickpeas.
The ricotta ravioli with ricotta was very tasty and the sheep's milk ricotta gave that extra something to the dish.

tender and tasty.
The cream and black cherry cake is simply sublime.
