La Tavernetta In Cortina d'ampezzo

Had dinner here. The pasta was so good. Gelato was also good. The wine was too strong for me, I was not able to finish the smallest jug. Reserve a table before you go, it is busy place.

We were staying about 15 minutes away with not much nearby, so decided to head into Cortina d'Ampezzo and found La Tavernetta di Cortina on Google. I’m really glad we tried it — we had a lovely meal here! The restaurant is just a few minutes’ walk from the main high street, so nice and central. There’s no parking on-site but plenty of car parks nearby, so it’s not a problem. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and the decor inside is really traditional and cosy. The staff were welcoming and, even though it was fairly busy, we got a table straight away. There’s a €3 coperto per person, which is pretty standard and didn’t bother us. Service was quick and friendly — we were seated right away, given time to choose, and the food came out promptly, which was ideal after a long day out walking. Drinks and mains were a little on the pricey side (e.g. €7 for a medium Coca-Cola), but the pizzas were very reasonably priced and there was loads of choice. We’ve been looking for a proper Neapolitan-style pizza with that soft, puffy crust (a lot of places nearby serve thin, flat ones), and these came very close. Freshly made, wood-fired, and absolutely delicious! If you’re in the area and fancy a good quality pizza spot, I’d definitely recommend La Tavernetta di Cortina.

Food was okay, not great. Would not come back or recommend

The place is very cozy and the service was very attentive but we can't say the same about the food. We ordered a Calzone and a gluten-free pizza. We found that the dough was raw and we also think that they didn't drain the mozzarella and the pizza was watery. A rather inexpert mistake, especially for someone who offers calzones. We could only order water because the rest of the drinks were very expensive, as some Mediterraneans say. For celiacs, know that you can't eat pizza since it's only for gluten intolerant people, they cook everything in the same oven.

A recent stop for lunch was very enjoyable. The pasta with ragu was very good and the house wines are of an unbeatable value!

Great location! Good pizzas and great meat, great atmosphere! The service left us with some questions on the first day, but we returned and received excellent service.

The food was spectacular, with prices roughly the same as anywhere else in Cortina (it's not a cheap place; nothing in Cortina is cheap), but the quality was incredible. Siamo stati a cena in questo locale posto nel centro di cortina ma fuori dalla via centrale. Per un diguido della cucina il piatto di mia figlia e’ arrivato in ritardo e per questo la titolare e’ venuta a scusarsi di persona ma non solo … al momento del conto ci ha offerto anche il dolce! Piatti nella norma, pizza ben lievitata e digeribile, location tipica montana. Sicuramente da provare!

Tuvimos un almuerzo grupal fabuloso! Compartimos dos de las placas Tagliere, que eran encantadoras. Mi mejor elección fue la mortadela con trufa negra. Luego pedimos varios platos. Tenía la Casunziei d’Ampezzana y es mi nueva pasta favorita: delicados ravioles rellenos de verduras de raíz dulces y saladas. Difícil de describir pero absolutamente divino. Otros tenían el spatzle, pizzas, tagliolini con venado, maccheroni - todos altamente calificados. El servicio fue atento y un gran ritmo. Si/cuando vuelva a Cortina, este será mi restaurante. 🔝
