We stayed in Orbetello for a week, every evening for us it was the fixed place to have dinner, excellent atmosphere and service too, the food was excellent we ate well. Fish, pizza etc etc. If I return to Orbetello it will certainly be our point of reference for eating.

opposed to all of the negative reviews we had a great time here, even as foreigners. yes the waiters were in a rush every minute, but thanks to that we had our meal pretty soon after ordering. after trying many other pizzas around town, La Taverna’s pizza was on a whole other level, the though was exceptional and the rustic form of the pizza proves that it is done freshly and by hand.

Trattoria-pizzeria with a wood-fired oven.
Outside tables on a busy street.
All dishes arrived staggered, and one order was wrong for a pizza (Margherita), which arrived after over 20 minutes.
The Margherita pizza was topped not with kozzatella but with stretched curd.
The stracchino and sausage pizza was good.
The rest is a frozen affair... and in a place known for its excellent seafood, it's a real shame.
The cuisine is rough, with the only exception being the baked sea bream (farmed).

Looking for a low-key place in Orbetello, we booked close to dinner time and found a table on the pedestrian street. The food was good, the prices reasonable, and the service was handled by very young, somewhat awkward people. The atmosphere was partly ruined by the owner, who was rushing anxiously between the tables.

We don't understand some of the negative reviews.
We are a family of four, and we all agree: This is the best value in all of Orbetello!
The service may be a bit chaotic, but the owner is very friendly and attentive.
We ate there twice and had pizza, spaghetti, and bruschetta – everything was delicious.
We'd love to come back!
